We’re excited to introduce a new tradition to Friends University Theatre that will continue with every production moving forward!
At the end of each show, our company will peer-vote for two recipients:
Most Valuable Performer — celebrating an exceptional acting partner, ensemble member, and someone who makes those around them better.
Most Valuable Technician — recognizing dedication, craftsmanship, a positive attitude, and those who go above and beyond to serve the production and their team.
Both awards reflect our commitment to the whole process, the whole person, and Christlike leadership through selfless sacrifice to “the other.”
Each recipient receives the Whale Done! certificate and a plush whale that will be passed from production to production.
And now, we’re proud to introduce our first-ever Whale Done! recipients!

The curtain may have closed on Tuck Everlasting, but the creativity, passion, and artistry continue. We hope you’ll continue to support the talented students and artists at Friends University, whether that means joining us for another theatre production or experiencing the incredible work happening throughout our other Fine Arts departments. Thank you for buying a ticket, bringing a friend, sharing a post, cheering from the audience, and most importantly, for choosing to support the arts. Your presence means more to our students, performers, designers, technicians, musicians, and faculty than you may ever know.

A production like this takes an incredible community to bring it to life, and you are part of that community. Thank you for making it everlasting!

What you see on stage is only the final chapter of a much longer creative process.

From the first costume renderings and scenic sketches to the finished pieces on stage, our designers spend countless hours researching, creating, adjusting, and reimagining. Every color, texture, silhouette, and scenic element helps establish the world of the story and shapes how the audience experiences it.

And the designs don’t stop evolving once rehearsals begin. As blocking changes, scenes develop, and new ideas emerge, the designs continue to be refined—sometimes right up until opening night!
