Wichita Swing Dance Society

Wichita Swing Dance Society We are dedicated to teaching and promoting swing dance in the Wichita, Kansas area. Join us at Swing The cost for the evening is $10.

Every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month we give you the chance to learn to swing dance and enjoy an evening of fun and exercise dancing with friends. This includes a drop-in class at 7:00pm and a social dance from 7:30pm to 9:00pm on two Saturdays every month. Please contact us for more information. COVID PROTOCOLS
We are no longer limiting our classes and social dances to vaccinated individuals. However, we do ask that you continue the following:

1. Mask up if that is your personal preference.

2. Please bring your own water and remember to wash your hands often. Hand sanitizer will be provided.

3. Respect other dancers’ comfort levels. Everyone has the right to say no to a social dance or dancing with a different partner during class. Please be mindful of our individual preferences.

4. If you are exposed and/or test positive for COVID-19, please notify us as quickly as possible via email at [email protected] so we can notify teachers and classmates. Above all, we want this to be a safe space in every way possible. WSDS looks forward to opening up classes and dances further in the future. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to navigate through this together.

Happy birthday to our wonderful Evan! Dancing for over 20 years, teaching, MCing, and forging friendships across the nation, Evan is truly one of a kind. By spreading joy and knowledge throughout not only our community but many others across these 50 states, he has left a mark on our own little world of dance equal parts beautiful and unforgettable. We all Evan to thank for cultivating and caring for our Wichita dance community these last two decades. Good morning, Wichita! As dancers, we like to talk about dance a lot, but the fact is without music there would be no dance. Happy Friday, Wichita! As some of you may know, the Omaha Jitterbug’s Cowtown Jamborama is coming up! The Jamborama is one of the Midwest’s longest running swing dance festivals and is nothing less than a pillar of our dance community. From September 11-13 you can expect internationally renowned dance teachers, live music, and a lovely weekend full of learning and community! You can find all the necessary information on their page at omahajitterbugs on Instagram and Omaha Jitterbugs on Facebook!

Our lessons here in Wichita are a great way to build up some additional skills before traveling for a big dance weekend like this. We give beginner friendly lessons every first and third Saturday teaching and elaborating upon foundational dance steps useful to beginners and veterans alike!
