๐Ÿ† Bloodfest 7โ€™s Champions! ๐Ÿ†

Our boys came to Austin hungry and are headed home with the Bloodfest 7โ€™s High School Division Championship Trophy!

A huge thank you to Coach Josh and menโ€™s player Varun for making the trip, driving, and coaching the team all weekend. Special thanks to Coach Joshโ€™s wife for clearing his calendar and helping make this opportunity possible.

Thank you to our incredible alumni base for donating funds to help cover team expenses and support these players.

And a big shoutout to Team Dad Corey for all the sideline support, video coverage, and whatever else the team needed throughout Bloodfest.

This championship was truly a team effort, both on and off the field. Proud of these young men for the way they represented Wichita Rugby all weekend.

๐Ÿ“ฃ Exciting news from Wichita Alumn Britton Harper:

Patience is a good attribute. When you finally get to what you've been working toward, you know it was worth every bit of the time and effort.

Roughly four years ago, I started a process with a simple but ambitious goal โ€” to find a home for Wichita rugby. Not just a field to borrow. A real home. A place where we could build a clubhouse, develop multiple fields, and create something that players from around the region, the nation, and beyond would want to experience. We had many discussions with landowners, realtors and the City of Wichita searching for a place to create a legacy.

Today, the City of Wichita approved a lease for 23 acres at South Lakes Park.

This means three full-size, grass rugby fields, a dedicated youth field, changing rooms, showers, and the foundation for an indoor practice facility and clubhouse โ€” things rugby players dream of having.

This didn't happen overnight, and it didn't happen alone. Thank you to the members of the Wichita Rugby Foundation, fellow players past and present, and the City of Wichita, Wichita Park & Recreation Department for working with us to make it real.

Now it's time to roll up our sleeves and start building. The Wichita Area Rugby Complex is coming โ€” and we intend to make it the envy of the rugby community in the United States.

๐Ÿ‰ The dream is becoming reality. The work starts now, and the future of rugby in Wichita has never looked brighter.

๐Ÿ‰ Wichita Rugby has a home. Letโ€™s build something incredible.

Two tournaments. One club. One weekend of Wichita rugby! Divide and conquer! ๐Ÿ‰

Part of our squad traveled to the Springfield 7โ€™s Tournament and brought home a 3rd place finish, while another group headed to Ohio for the National 7โ€™s Championships.

Our National 7โ€™s teams battled hard all weekend, with the U16s finishing 4th and the U18s also earning a 4th-place finish against some of the top competition in the country.

Weโ€™re incredibly proud of these athletes for representing Wichita Rugby wherever they play. Different tournaments, same commitment, same heart. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค

And weโ€™re not done yet! Next up, this Thursday we send our squad to Austin, Texas, to compete at the Bloodfest 7โ€™s Rugby Tournament.

A huge THANK YOU to Embroidery and More and Dominic Lopez for the incredible work on our rugby bags! ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ–ค

Not only did they provide amazing, high-quality embroidery, but they also generously donated a portion of the cost to help support our program. Their kindness and commitment to our team mean so much to our players and families.

Please help us show our appreciation by supporting local businesses that give back to the community. Thank you, for investing in our athletes and helping make our team look great! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

A fun afternoon at the Alumni Match today!

It was great to see our HS coaches lace up the boots and get back on the pitch. Even better, we had a few of our high school players come out to watchโ€”and two of them were brave enough to suit up and take the field with the men!

Moments like these show what makes rugby special: one club, one community, and players of all ages sharing the game together.

Thanks to everyone who came out, played, supported, and cheered from the sidelines. ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค

What a great way to close out an incredible 15s season!

A huge thank you to our players, parents, and coaches for everything youโ€™ve poured into this team throughout the year.

Players โ€” thank you for your commitment, toughness, and willingness to learn and grow. The progress made this season was something special to watch.

Parents โ€” thank you for the early mornings, long drives, volunteer hours, washing of jerseys, donated food and snacks, helping film, and unwavering support from the sidelines. This program wouldnโ€™t exist without you.

Coaches โ€” thank you for sharing your time, knowledge, and passion for the game. The impact you have on these athletes extends far beyond rugby.

This season brought challenges, successes, memories, and friendships that will last long after the final whistle. We are proud of what this group accomplished together and excited for whatโ€™s ahead.

And while the banquet may mark the end of our 15s season, thereโ€™s no offseason around hereโ€”weโ€™re heading straight into Summer 7s! Time to lace up the boots, get faster, and keep building on everything we accomplished this spring.

See you on the pitch. Go Barbarians! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‰

Weโ€™d like to send a huge thank you to a local photographer, Kelli Cox Photography, who took time out of her day to stop by the pitch and capture our boys in action.

The memories made during a season can go by so quickly, and having these moments preserved means so much to our players, families, and coaches. We truly appreciate your generosity, talent, and willingness to share your work with our rugby community.

Thank you for helping tell the story of our team, one photo at a time. ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ’›
