Happy Friday Studio Family!
Recently Ms. Lindsey was nominated to be Prom Queen at the Center For Abused Persons Prom in October. Here is a small portion of the nomination letter submitted-
“Mrs. Lindsey and her husband are the directors of Sharon’s Studio, Flips Gym & Ninja Zone in White Plains, Maryland. When Mrs. Sharon retired in 2020, she entrusted the studio she had built to Mrs. Lindsey and her husband. Since then, they have continued its legacy while creating one of their own—a legacy centered on children, families, mentorship, and community.
Although Mrs. Lindsey runs a business, it is clear that the business is not her only priority—the community is. She quietly supports families in need without announcing what she has done, seeking recognition, or expecting anything in return. Much of her impact happens behind the scenes, simply because she sees a need and chooses to help.
Mrs. Lindsey is part of the village that so many families need. She is a teacher, mentor, encourager, listener, business owner, community supporter, and safe person for countless young people.
Sometimes we wait until someone has a large title or stands on a big stage before we call them a community leader. But some of the greatest community leaders are quietly changing lives every day without asking anyone to notice.
Not all heroes wear capes. Some are hiding in plain sight, quietly creating safe spaces, wiping tears, opening doors, supporting families, and reminding children that they matter.
Mrs. Lindsey is one of those people.”
While she is not super excited about all eyes being on her she is always happy to support a good cause.
