Pancake would like to remind everyone that for lessons, we SO have a no call no show and cancellation policy.
While we do understand sickness and issues that come up, please be courteous and let us know if you’re not coming.
We will start charging our in place fees if it keeps being an issue. From this point further. No call no shows will be immediately terminated from our program.

UPDATE!!! ATTENTION!!! We would like to announce, we will NOT be holding cattle sorting this year.
It’s been a blast the past 3 years, but last year was our sink or swim year. While this was meant to be something fun for the horse community to do during the dull winter months. It was not meant for this barn to financially support that fun. We do not own the cattle, we rent them. For the past 3 years, we have payed for the community to play. We were hoping we would get the local support to keep this going. But last year. The only real support was for the jackpots. Not the beginner pay to play.
We hope to see everyone out and about at the other venues that we all go to and have fun at!
It’s been a heck of a fun 3 years, but like everything else. Things must come to an end.

We have 2 full care boarding opportunities opening up Oct 1. Horses go out 7 days a week, stalls cleaned daily. Indoor and outdoor arenas available.
We are located in Wheatfield IN, a short trip away from Valparaiso

You don’t get to complain about the results you didn’t work for.

You can’t ride twice a month and wonder why you’re not progressing.

You can’t skip the hard days and expect your horse to be better.

You can’t blame the horse, the judges, the trainer, the competition, or bad luck every time you don’t get the result you wanted.

You can’t skip lessons or working with a trainer and expect to magically know how to fix things or catch yourself messing up.

At some point, you have to ask yourself: did I actually do the work?

Because the riders getting better aren’t necessarily the most talented.

They’re the ones who show up, shut up, and put the work in.

Stop complaining about the results.

Earn different ones.

Ah yes, back-to-school season. The time of year when suddenly everyone has soccer four nights a week, volleyball three nights a week, dance, cheer, football, homework, birthday parties, and approximately 900 other commitments...

And horse practice is the thing that apparently needs to understand.

I completely understand that kids are busy. I'm not asking horses to be the only sport.

But we do have to be realistic.

You can't bring your kid to riding once a week, occasionally skip that, and then wonder why they're not progressing at the same rate as the kid riding 3-4 times a week.

You wouldn't tell the dance instructor, "We're gonna miss half the practices but we'd like her to be in the recital with with advanced kids."

Yet somehow horses get handed the leftover Tuesday night and we're expected to produce magic.

One lesson a week is absolutely enough if your goal is to enjoy horses, learn, and have fun.

But if the goal is to compete, progress quickly, and ride at a higher level, consistency matters.

Your trainer can't make up for the hours you're not here.

And really- just make your kids pick a dang sport. Maybe two. You can’t realistically give your all to multiple things. I dont know. Maybe I’m just irked. Sue me.
