Sometimes we feel so panicky that we're "so far behind" or that we "should be further" in our careers by now but like... Based on what pumpkin?
There is no map for this.
And when you talk to most artists that you admire, many of them say they just keep on doing stuff for a long long time, and don't quit when other people do.
Maybe they don't talk about the $200 gig. Or that show they are so in love with with the amazing photos and costumes? They actually did that one for free.
We don't really know what it is we're envying most of the time. We just know that it looks good and hurts our feelings.
