BEFORE YOU CUT ANOTHER 300 CALORIES, ASK YOURSELF THIS.

"What am I trying to protect?"

If you're trying to lose weight during menopause, it's tempting to focus entirely on eating less.

But aggressive restriction can make it harder to get enough protein and nutrients, and it can make maintaining muscle more difficult.

That's why the goal shouldn't simply be:

"How little can I eat?"

A better question is:

"How can I create progress while giving my body what it needs?"

That means looking at your overall nutrition, strength training, daily activity, sleep, and recovery.

Weight loss is only one part of the picture.

Your goal should be becoming a healthier, stronger woman, not simply a smaller one.

8 miles on a 25-pound mountain bike. 96 degrees. A heat index of 108.

One of our members, Laura, just sent us this update from her trip to D.C., and the best part was what came after: her daughter was so proud of her for sticking with it.

This is what strength training is for. Not just the work you do in the studio, but everything you can do once you leave it.

We are so proud of you too.

IF YOU'RE WIDE AWAKE AT 3AM, STOP BLAMING YOURSELF.

You were exhausted at 10PM.

You finally fell asleep.

Then suddenly...

3:07 AM.

Wide awake.

Hot.

Restless.

Maybe your brain decides this is the perfect time to replay every conversation you've had since 1998.

Sound familiar?

Sleep disruption is incredibly common during perimenopause and menopause.

And while fitness can't solve every cause of insomnia, there are lifestyle factors worth addressing.

Regular daytime movement.
Strength training.
Consistent sleep and wake times.
Managing caffeine.
Creating a relaxing evening routine.

And talking with your healthcare provider if symptoms are persistent or severe.

You don't have to simply shrug and say, "Well, I guess this is menopause."

There are things you can do.

YOUR BONES DON'T CARE WHAT YOUR SCALE SAYS.

We talk about weight loss constantly.

But there's another conversation women need to be having as they move through menopause:

How do I stay strong and physically capable as I age?

Declining estrogen during menopause can affect bone health.

That's one reason resistance training deserves a permanent place in your fitness routine.

Lifting weights isn't just about changing your shape.

It's about giving your body a reason to maintain strength.

And the goal isn't to lift the heaviest weight possible.

It's to progressively challenge your body in a safe, appropriate way.

Start where you are.
Learn good technique.
Progress gradually.
Build a foundation you can keep for years.

Your future self will thank you.

Strength training builds you up. But recovery is where your body actually repairs, adapts, and gets stronger.

In midlife, that recovery piece matters more than ever. Better sleep, a calmer nervous system, less tension carried in the shoulders and hips. Gentle yoga supports all of it.

That is the thinking behind Sunday Slowdown, our new five-week series. It is the other half of the work, the restore to your strength.

Five Sundays starting October 4. Join us: https://fabyoulousfitness.com/member-signup/187

WHAT COULD CHANGE IN 6 WEEKS IF YOU STOPPED TRYING TO DO EVERYTHING?

You don't need a new diet every Monday.

You don't need a six-day workout schedule.

You don't need to eliminate carbs.

You don't need to punish yourself for gaining weight during menopause.

You need a plan that works with your current body.

At FabYOUlous Fitness, our approach starts with where you are now and builds from there.

Strength training.
Movement.
Nutrition.
Mobility.
Accountability.
Community.

If you want to see what a menopause-focused approach could look like for you, DM us "6 WEEKS."

Let's stop guessing and start building a plan.
