What an incredible day celebrating 3 years of Vaca BJJ & MMA and the birthday of our head coach, Alexandre “Vaca” Moreira! 🥋🎂

Every year we continue to grow, but what makes us the proudest isn’t just the number of students—it’s the amazing people who walk through our doors. We are building a team filled with good people, positive energy, respect, and a true family atmosphere. That is what makes Vaca BJJ so special.

To every student, parent, family member, friend, and supporter who has been part of this journey: thank you! You are the reason this community keeps getting stronger every single year.

A very special thank you to my good friend Big Dan and his family. The birthday video from your kids truly meant a lot to me. It was incredibly thoughtful, brought a big smile to my face, and is something I’ll always remember. Thank you for taking the time to make my day even more special.

As you can see, we truly have something for everyone—kids, teens, adults, competitors, beginners, and law enforcement. If you’re 5 years old or older, there’s a place for you here at Vaca BJJ. We’re excited to announce that we’re adding a Friday 6:30 AM Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class at VACA BJJ & MMA!

Starting Friday, August 7, come kick off your morning with Coffee & BJJ. There’s no better way to start the day than getting great training in with an awesome team.

Our morning schedule is now:

🥋 Wednesday – 6:30 AM
🥋 Friday – 6:30 AM (NEW!)

And don’t forget:
🤼 Saturday Open Mat – 9:30 AM

What an incredible day at our Vaca BJJ Kids In-House Tournament! 🥋🏆

Today was about much more than medals—it was about courage, growth, teamwork, and having the confidence to step onto the mats and do your best.

We want to say a huge thank you to all of our amazing parents for bringing your kids, cheering them on, and trusting us with their Jiu-Jitsu journey. Your support means the world to us.

A special thank you to all of our coaches for the countless hours they dedicate to preparing and mentoring our students. We couldn’t do this without you.

We also want to thank everyone who volunteered behind the scenes to make today run so smoothly—from organizing the brackets, keeping the matches on schedule, helping with scoring, and taking care of everything throughout the day. Your hard work made this tournament possible, and we truly appreciate each and every one of you.

To all of our competitors: congratulations! We are incredibly proud of every child who stepped onto the mats, gave their best effort, showed respect, and represented the true spirit of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Win or lose, you are all champions because you had the courage to compete.

🎉 Kids Belt Promotion Day at Vaca BJJ! 🥋

Today was a special day for our 8–14-year-old Kids Program at Vaca BJJ in West Springfield! We are incredibly proud of every student who stepped on the mats and earned their promotion. Some received new stripes, while others earned new belts—each one representing the hard work, discipline, and dedication they’ve shown over the past months.

Congratulations to all of our students! Your effort, respect, and perseverance continue to make us proud. Keep learning, keep growing, and remember that every class brings you one step closer to becoming the best version of yourself.

🥋 Congratulations to all of our Kids (Ages 5–8) on their Belt Promotions! 🥋

Yesterday was a special day at Vaca BJJ! We are incredibly proud of every student who earned their new belt or stripe. Your hard work, dedication, and positive attitude on the mats have truly paid off.

A huge thank you to all of our parents for trusting us to be part of your children’s journey. Together, we’re helping build confident, respectful, disciplined, and resilient kids who are strong not only on the mats, but in everyday life. The lessons learned through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu extend far beyond self-defense—they help shape character, build confidence, and prepare children for a successful future.

A special thank you to all of our instructors and assistant coaches who dedicate their time and energy to our kids’ program. Your help is invaluable in creating a positive, safe, and structured environment where our students can learn, grow, and succeed. We truly appreciate everything you do for our team.

As we celebrate Independence Day, we’d like to thank this great country for all the opportunities it has given us. We are grateful to be part of such an amazing community.

Reminder: Our academy will be closed tomorrow, July 4th, so everyone can enjoy the holiday with family and friends. We’ll be back on the mats and ready to train on Monday!

🥇🥇 What an incredible weekend for Vaca BJJ!

A huge congratulations to Coaches and , black belts representing and Nova União at the 2026 Brazilian Nationals! Both athletes brought home GOLD medals in their divisions! 🏆🇧🇷

We are all back home at the academy extremely proud and happy for these amazing accomplishments. Their dedication, discipline, and countless hours on the mats continue to inspire everyone at our school.

As a coach , I couldn’t be prouder of both of them. Their success is proof that hard work truly pays off. As Master Jair always says: “Nothing beats hard work.”

🔥 Jair Lourenço Seminar & Belt Promotion Recap – Vaca BJJ & MMA 🔥

This past weekend, May 29th and 30th, we had the honor of hosting Master Jair Lourenço at Vaca BJJ & MMA for an incredible two-day seminar and belt promotion event.

It was a fantastic weekend filled with learning, hard work, great energy, and a lot of fun. Master Jair shared valuable techniques, details, and concepts that everyone enjoyed and will be able to add to their game. Having our master here teaching and spending time with the team is always a special experience.

A huge congratulations to everyone who earned a promotion this weekend. Your dedication, consistency, and hard work on the mats continue to pay off. Enjoy the moment and keep moving forward on your journey!

We would like to sincerely thank Master Jair Lourenço, Team Kimura, all of our Vaca BJJ students, friends, family members, and everyone who supported and participated in this event. Your support is what makes weekends like this possible.

Big congratulations to Brandon for an amazing performance at Reality Fighting last Saturday! 👊🔥

Brandon stepped into a professional 125 lb MMA fight against an opponent with a lot more experience and showed exactly what hard work, discipline, and teamwork can do. He followed the game plan perfectly, dominated the first round, and came back in the second round with an incredible finish — earning Knockout of the Night! 💥🏆

Everyone at Vaca BJJ MMA is extremely proud of him. This victory was not only Brandon’s victory, but a victory for the whole team. Huge shout out to everyone that helped him prepare for this fight — all the training partners, coaches, and teammates that pushed him every day.

Special thanks to Scott for bringing Brandon to Boston on Sundays for sparring, and to everybody at the gym that helped with grappling, wall work, conditioning, and striking. It truly takes a team to build a fighter.
