Join us for a FREE community movie night at the newly renovated Westacre Park featuring Disney’s Lilo & Stitch (2025)! 🌺👽

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, snacks, family and friends for an evening of activities, games, a costume contest and a movie under the stars.

🚗 Free parking is available in the parking lot and on adjacent streets. Carpooling, VIA and public transit are encouraged.

Lilo & Stitch is rated PG with a runtime of approximately 1 hour and 52 minutes.

Cinema at Sundown is a free community event organized by the City of West Sacramento Parks & Recreation Department.

🚧 Community Center Fence Construction Update

Due to unforeseen site conditions and delays in gate manufacturing, the Community Center fence project timeline has been extended. Additional time is needed to safely reroute water lines and complete the final security gates.

🚧 Phase 1: The South Entrance (facing the library parking lot) will remain closed through Friday, September 11. Please continue using the alternate entrances to access the building.

🚧 Phase 2: The North Entrance (facing West Capitol Avenue/Transit Center) will temporarily close following completion of the South Entrance work and is tentatively scheduled for September 11 through October 9.

🚨 SPRAY GROUND CLOSURE ALERT
The Westacre Park Spray Ground is closed until further notice for repairs.
Staff is currently awaiting replacement parts needed to complete repairs. We will share an update as soon as reopening information is available.

More than 227 million U.S. adults—or someone in their household—visited a local park or recreation facility in 2025, underscoring the essential role these spaces and services play in everyday life.

Throughout July, we’re celebrating the parks, programs, events, trails and public spaces that help make West Sacramento a more connected and vibrant place to live.

The West Sacramento Community Center & City offices will be closed on Friday, June 19, in recognition of Juneteenth. This holiday honors the historical legacy of Freedom Day among the African American community.

There will be no camp programs, including Sports Camp, on Friday, June 19, or Friday, July 3.
