The Palm Beach County Sports Commission was proud to participate in Connect Marketplace 2026 at the Tampa Convention Center. The event brought together meeting planners, destinations, and industry professionals for several days of networking, education, and business development.

Our team had a great time connecting with partners, highlighting The Palm Beaches as a premier destination for sporting events, and exploring opportunities to attract future events to Palm Beach County. As the Hall of Fame prepares to celebrate its 50th Anniversary, we invite the community to help recognize the athletes, coaches, and sports contributors who have made a lasting impact on Palm Beach County's rich sports history.

Since 1977, the Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame has honored local sports excellence and celebrated individuals who have helped shape our community's athletic legacy. Now is your opportunity to nominate someone deserving of this prestigious recognition.

🏆 The Billie Jean King Cup Team is headed back to Delray Beach!

The USTA has announced that the Billie Jean King Cup Team will bring the World Cup of Women’s Tennis back to Delray Beach, Florida. Team USA will face Hungary November 21-22 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center in a crucial BJK Cup Playoff matchup.

The event will showcase elite international competition while highlighting Delray Beach’s longstanding role as a premier destination for tennis. Beyond the action on court, these events provide a significant boost to the local economy and continue to inspire the next generation of players and fans.

🔥Nine days. Tough competition. One incredible celebration of international hockey.

The ice at Palm Beach Skate Zone welcomed talented athletes from Latin America, the Caribbean, Central America, First Nations communities, and countries around the world for the Amerigol LATAM Cup Hockey Tournament August 1-9. From fierce competition to unforgettable moments of sportsmanship, the tournament showcased the power of hockey to unite cultures and grow the game across borders.

Congratulations to our Executive Director, George Linley, on being named one of the Palm Beach Illustrated 100 Most Influential Business Leaders for 2026! 👏

For more than two decades, George has been a driving force behind the growth of sports tourism in Palm Beach County, helping transform The Palm Beaches into one of the nation's premier sports destinations. Through his leadership of the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, world-class sporting events have generated significant economic impact, attracted millions of visitors, and elevated our region's profile on both the national and international stage.

In 2025 alone, the Sports Commission hosted 227 events across 41 sports, welcomed more than 1.5 million attendees, and generated nearly $500 million in visitor spending. Beyond those impressive numbers, George's commitment to community initiatives, youth sports, and economic development has created a lasting impact throughout Palm Beach County.

This recognition is a testament to his vision, leadership, and dedication to making our community stronger. Congratulations, George, on this well-deserved honor!

🏈 On August 1, nearly 3,000 Palm Beach County kids kicked off the school year at the Back-to-School Football Fun Fest Presented by Baptist Health, hosted by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission in partnership with Baptist Health and the Spirit of Giving Network at Village Academy in Delray Beach.

The event focused on education, physical fitness, and positive choices in a safe and fun sports environment. Every child received a complimentary backpack filled with school supplies, along with shoes, socks, hygiene kits, healthy snacks, books, and other essential school necessities.

A highlight of the day was a special appearance by National Championship winner and retired NFL player Major Wright, who signed autographs, took photos, and spent time answering questions from children in attendance, creating unforgettable memories and inspiring the next generation.

Thank you to all the partners, volunteers, and supporters who helped set local students up for success as they head back to school! 📚✨

🤙 The World Wake Association competition brought big air, unforgettable rides, and lots of action to the water! Congratulations to all the competitors, organizers, volunteers, and fans who helped make this event a success. We were proud to be a part of this exciting championship and celebrate the energy, talent, and community spirit that define watersports.
