Saying you want to get in shape, and SHOWING you want to get in shape are two completely different things. Saying you’ll do anything but willing to put it off a few days, a few weeks or even a few months is showing that your priorities may be a little out of whack. You have to want it as badly as the 10 year old version of you wanted to play Sonic The Hedgehog 2. When you reach that level of “want” you’ll be unstoppable.

Sadly, this comic isn’t that far off from conversations I have all the time.
A guy on fire doesn’t need the perfect plan.
He doesn’t need better timing.
He doesn’t need to “circle back after things calm down.”
He needs water and he needs it yesterday.
But when a guy is out of shape, carrying extra weight, low energy, bad blood work, poor sleep, and barely feels like himself anymore, magically the urgency disappears.
“I’ll start when work slows down.”
“I’ll start after vacation.”
“I’ll start when the timing is better.”
But what if the perfect time never comes? (Spoiler alert…it never does)
Getting in shape is hard, man. I’ll be the first to say. I wouldn’t have a job if it were easy…
But it gets a hell of a lot easier when your reason is stronger than your BS.
“I want to lose weight” or “get a lil more cut” usually isn’t enough.
“I want to be around for my family.”
“I want to stop feeling embarrassed at the pool”
“I want to have energy to run around with my kids”
“I don’t want to wait until a doctor scares the hell out of me.”
That’s the real stuff right there, man.
Surface level reasons keep you stuck.
For a lot of guys carrying extra weight and the risk factors that come with it, “stuck forever” might not be as long as they think.
You don’t need perfect timing.
You need a REAL reason that finally makes you move.
