From the opening tee shots to the flight battles and championship playoff, Derby Day once again delivered a fun and competitive atmosphere from start to finish.

🏆 2026 Derby Day Champions! 🏆

Congratulations to Scott Novak and Bob Dempsey on an incredible run to capture this year’s Derby Day title!

After winning the Secretariat Flight with an outstanding 61 (the lowest score in the entire field) Scott and Bob advanced to the championship playoff and kept the momentum going.

They then defeated the other flight winners in a dramatic three-hole playoff to take home the crown. ⛳

What a performance from start to finish. Congratulations, Scott and Bob!

🏆 The 2026 PGA Philadelphia Section Make-A-Wish Pro-Am has concluded at Penn Oaks Golf Club!

Congratulations to Zach Barbin of Chesapeake Bay Golf Club, who entered the final round in third place and came from behind to claim the title. Zach posted rounds of 68 and 66 to finish three strokes ahead of Whitford Country Club’s Anthony Sebastianelli.

Zach and Anthony were two of only three players in the field to record a 66 during the championship, and fittingly, they finished first and second.

A sincere thank-you to our title sponsor, The Delaware Valley Rare Coin Company, and our platinum sponsors, The Tamora Group, Ducklings Early Learning Franchise, and Cavan Construction, for their generous support.

We would also like to recognize Penn Oaks members Jimmy O’Connor, Tony Diver, Ted Caniglia, Rich Weaver, and the many others who helped organize the event and raise funds for such a meaningful cause.

This year’s event was especially meaningful as it was our first without Ken Kovak. His presence was deeply missed, and we were proud to honor his memory throughout the event. May he rest in peace.

⛳ Round 1 is complete at the PGA Philadelphia Section Make-A-Wish Pro-Am!

Whitford Country Club Assistant Professional Anthony Sebastianelli opened with an impressive 5-under-par 66 to take a one-shot lead into tomorrow’s final round.

Close behind is Lulu Country Club Assistant Professional Trevor Bensel, who posted a strong 4-under-par 67 to stay firmly in contention.

With just one shot separating the leaders, tomorrow’s final round is shaping up to be a great one. Best of luck to the entire field as they compete while supporting an incredible cause!

🍷⛳ Our 9 & Wine Vintner’s Putting Classic at The Nest last weekend.

Members enjoyed a fun evening on our nine-hole putting course featuring a two-person scramble format, wine tastings and food stations throughout the course.

One of the highlights of the night was our wine-bottle putting challenge. Members had the chance to hit a putt toward the bottles, and anyone who struck one got to take that bottle home. A few players found the target more than once and walked away with multiple bottles!

Congratulations to our top teams, who earned pro shop credit.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such an enjoyable experience.

🏆 2026 Penn Oaks Men’s Club Champion: Jimmy O’Connor 🏆

Congratulations to Jimmy O’Connor on capturing his fourth Men’s Club Championship at Penn Oaks Golf Club!

Jimmy closed out the championship with an impressive final-round 73, holding off former Division I golfer Jon Ross and this year’s Senior Club Champion, Dan Missar.

He did not lead the tournament until the final day, but he stayed patient, kept battling and improved with every round. Jimmy never gave up, and when the opportunity came, he held strong and finished the job.

Congratulations as well to all of this year’s competitors. Four rounds of championship golf is a true test, and the tournament was a great showcase of competition, sportsmanship and perseverance.
