Last night, members of the Lima American Legion Family gathered together outside the Post for a 9/11 Memorial Service dedicated to remembrance, reflection, and honoring those whose lives were forever changed by September 11, 2001.
Legionnaires, Sons of The American Legion, and Auxiliary members stood together to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, honor the first responders who answered the call, and recognize the generations of service members and Veterans whose lives were shaped by everything that followed.
Seeing our Legion Family gathered together in front of the Post made the evening especially meaningful. The photographs capture more than just a ceremony, they show the strength of our Legion Family, standing side by side to make sure the memory and sacrifice of September 11th are never forgotten.
A special thank you to Lima American Legion Commander Rick Bock and everyone who helped organize, prepare, and make the service possible.
Thank you to our speakers, Livingston County Commander Anthony Gaiter and Livingston County and Lima Unit 282 Auxiliary President Deborah DeCook, for sharing meaningful words of remembrance and reflection.
We also extend our thanks to Carole Fawcett, Livingston County and Unit 282 Auxiliary Historian, for capturing the evening in photographs and helping preserve these moments for years to come.
