Shotokan Karate-Do is a system of self defense based on the principles of Bushido as a way to live with discipline, respect, etiquette and self control. But yet, teaches the philosophical convictions to refrain from violent behaviors and challenges you in seeking perfection of character. Karate Do seeks for justice build its foundation. Development of forging a fighting spirit or a spirit obtained by perseverance effort. The JKA certification (rank/certification) is approved the Japan Education Ministry. JKA Karate Do, has remained throughout its history. Each student learns each technique and traditions in its original and most powerful form. JKA Karate is a unique refinement of the Shotokan Ryu (style), one of the oldest and most traditional types of Okinawan Karate-Do. JKA Karate's, techniques and movements is based on solid, scientific, physical movement theory. That’s why we put such heavy focus-- far more than any other organization- on Kihon (Basics) foundational techniques, and their proper form, angle, and balance. JKA Karate, is powerful in spirit, solid foundation courtesy and respect, stable & balance, dynamic in the execution a well deliver technique. Despite the excellence of JKA Karate, it is the practioner responsibilities to acquire the necessary skills with constancy forging the warrior's spirit and his/her individual effort to strives and achieved their goals. Unlike many other karate organizations, the JKA was not created as an organization whose major purpose is holding matches and tournaments, its major focus is the practice of Karate Do. Its purpose is the teaching of karate as a way of life.

The JKA WF America El Paso and Weslaco Sister Dojos conducted a joint training session. Chief Instructor Nagatomo Sensei facilitated a Zoom clinic for our Kyu and Kuro Obi karatekas.
Sensei Nagatomo provided instruction on fundamental Ido Kihon and practical kumite techniques focusing on timing and distance.
