🏆 July Male Athlete of the Month: Simon Strickler! 🏆

Over the past several months, Simon has worked extremely hard on both his hitting and pitching. Coach Kincaid had seen great improvements in his stance, stride, balance, and bat speed, allowing him to make harder contact. His pitching control and command of his fastball have also made big strides thanks to his eagerness to learn and willingness to work.
What really stands out about Simon is his work ethic and attitude. When asked to try something new or work on something at home, he is always willing to put in the effort. He comes ready to work, doesn’t waste time, and consistently gives an outstanding effort.

Simon competed in a tournament this summer and entered the Home Run Derby, finishing 2nd out of 25 participants! 💪🔥 He is the kind of player every coach would want on their team and has all the qualities of a great leader. We are so proud of his progress and dedication and can’t wait to see what he accomplishes next!

Great job, Simon! Keep working hard! 👏⚾️

A former college baseball player for the UNC-Pembroke Braves, Coach Matt brings his passion for player development to everything he does — from hitting, pitching, and defensive instruction to building confidence and helping athletes reach their next level. ⚾🔥

💪 Fun Fact: Coach Matt is also our Fitness Director! He personally trains athletes and coaches multiple classes on the gym side, helping our athletes get stronger, faster, and more confident both on and off the field.

We’re lucky to have Coach Matt on our team! Help us give him a well-deserved CONGRATULATIONS! 👏🏆

WE’RE BACK — AND MAKING UP FOR LOST TIME!
Our apologies! We haven’t been keeping everyone in the loop as much lately, but get ready for us to make up for lost time! 🙌

First things first… we missed celebrating our coaches and athletes in July! So, over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting several of our incredible players and coaches and celebrating their hard work and accomplishments from the past two months (and more!).

And what better way to start than with our Coach Spotlight of the Month: ⚾🇺🇸 KERRY KINCAID! 👏

With 40+ years of experience, Kerry brings incredible knowledge, discipline, and passion to fitness and baseball development.

🇺🇸 Before coaching, Kerry proudly served in the U.S. Navy, bringing the same dedication, discipline, and commitment to service that he now brings to our athletes. We’re truly grateful for his service and sacrifice to our country.

🏆 Fun Fact: Kerry was an assistant coach for the gold medal-winning USA Women’s National Team at the 2015 Pan Am Games! He has also worked with the Carolina Mudcats and USA Baseball.

We’re incredibly thankful to have Kerry at The Athletic Zone, sharing his experience and helping our athletes reach their potential. From the elite to the future elite, He gives them his best!

So proud of the way the Johnston County Little League 12u softball team has represented our their community and our state. They are not there by accident. We have had the honor of working with a large majority of their girls and they have been putting in the work when no one was looking just so they are ready for this moment when all the eyes are on them! Way to go girls 👏👏👏 let’s finish this 🏆❤️🥎 Game time is approaching, be sure to cheer them on! 💪

BIG WIN tonight for the 12u Johnston County Little League Team 🙌 🎊we have had the privilege of working with a large handful of their athletes. This win sends them to the Little League World Series in Greenville! ❤️ We can’t wait to see you ladies in action again. Congratulations on a great run… keep it up 👏 🎉🥎💪😍 💯
