I started martial arts at the age of 11 with Bob Nuttals American Karate in Weatherford TX, where I earned my Black Belt at the age of 19 and my 3rd degree Black Belt at the age of 25. As the years went by I wanted to challenge myself further and began to search for something more. I started training at Peak Performance Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where I have earned my Black Belt under Paul Halme who has become one of my closest friends. Under his training and coaching I have been able to compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments in Texas, California and Rio De Janeiro Brazil winning several medals and championships. For the past 4-1/2 years it has been my pleasure to coach adults and the Peak Performance Kids Program in North Richland Hills, Keller and Decatur and watch them win the following championships:
• 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 TXBJJ Kids Champions
• 2008 & 2009 Travis Lutter Invitational Kids Champions
• Naga Kids Overall Runner Up
• Individual Naga Champions from Novice to Expert
In this program, I don't believe in just teaching children to punch and kick. We work to help build up your child's confidence and self esteem, fitness level and teach them to defend themselves! During classes, you'll see your child's energy and confidence levels rise. High Energy Classes: Fun-filled classes your child will truly enjoy! From the children's point of view, the best part about our program is how much fun the classes really are. We focus your child's energy in a positive and productive manner. Better Grades: The grades go up and stay up! Our program offers a lot more than just self-defense and physical agility. It is an educational program that will give your child the discipline needed to study, complete homework and organize their time wisely. This leads to better concentration at school and better grades. We make success a habit! Leadership Skills: To help them succeed in life! Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will teach your child how to set goals and take responsibility for their own actions. These qualities, more than any others, will help your child develop as a leader and not as a follower. Real Self-Defense Skills and Awareness: That could save your child's life! While we wish it weren't a factor in our program, that fact remains that we live in a world full of undesirable people. We don't give children a false sense of reality by teaching them how to be victorious only in competition. Our program teaches your child how to protect himself in real life threatening situations. Physical Fitness: Our programs increase speed, stamina and agility in children. They also help develop balance, coordination and timing, which will help your child in sports and other activities. Your child is ready to begin at 6 years old. Absolutely no experience is required for your child to begin training.
