No on-track activity for us this weekend, but we will be helping DeVoy Racing at Dells Raceway Park tonight for the DETJENS MEMORIAL EVENT! We will be back on track next week but in the meantime, let’s recap last weekend!
Saturday we were at the dells. Car was the best it’s been in awhile in practice. Put on our race set and just seemed to lose drive. We struggled all night but qualified 18th, first feature started 18th and finished 17th. Second feature we started 16th but with the rain coming the starting order got a little messy but we didn’t have time to reset. Got up to 14th and fell back to 15th at the checkers.
Sunday we would go to Slinger Super Speedway for the Wegner Memorial. Running a Wegner Automotive engine this night is always one of our favorites. Qualifying didn’t go great but we did start the heat race from the front row. Battled side by side all 8 laps, but came up just short at the line by .061 seconds. Made some changes for the feature and it really helped settle the car down. Unfortunately after a couple laps our exhaust broke and after 20ish laps we pulled off. Helmet blower hose broke in staging and exhaust pointing into the car it just became to much to push though. We got it fixed and will be back out soon !
