A Water Watcher is one adult, fully present, with eyes on the water the entire time kids are in it.

Those calm, unhurried moments can help water begin to feel familiar. When you introduce your baby to the pool, take the same approach. Hold your baby while you sit together on the steps. Let them feel the water at their toes before going any farther. End while they’re still enjoying it.

Bright, bold colors like neon orange or lime green stand out against blue pool water, ocean waves, and light sand, making a swimmer easier to spot quickly if something goes wrong. Neutrals and pastels blend right in, making it difficult to see a child in the water.

Our ParentTot classes welcome babies starting as early as 4 months old, all the way up to 36 months based on ability. A parent gets in the water every class, working side by side with an instructor guiding up to six parent and child pairs at once, building the foundational skills every swimmer needs later on.

As babies grow into toddlers, ParentTot 2 builds on those foundations with early stroke skills and stronger water confidence, still with a parent right there in the pool. Starting early is about giving your child time in the water before independence is even the goal, so comfort and instinct build naturally, one class at a time.

Everybody give a BIG Swimtastic shoutout to our Employee of the Month… MS. ALLIE! 🎉👏

As our Aquatic Trainer & Safety Coordinator, Allie plays a HUGE role in keeping our team educated, confident, and safe. She trains our instructors and leads our Lifeguard, CPR & First Aid courses, helping our staff become the best they can be. 🛟❤️

And that’s not all! Allie is also one of our beloved Swim Team Coaches 🏊‍♀️🏆 and brings her knowledge, enthusiasm, and love of swimming to our team swimmers.

The way Allie connects with our adaptive swimmers is amazing 💙 She brings patience, encouragement, creativity, and genuine care to every lesson, helping each swimmer feel successful and supported. 🥰

Confidence grows when children experience what they can do.

At Swimtastic, we see that happen through listening, practicing, working through difficult skills and recognizing real progress in the pool.

That idea is also at the heart of the Generation Real Project, an initiative led by our parent company, Youth Enrichment Brands. Generation Real is focused on helping families create more of the meaningful, hands-on experiences that build confidence, resilience and joy.

Its first practical resource is the Generation Real Essential Reading List, featuring eight books selected by Youth Enrichment Brands CEO Rob Price and child-development experts Erica Komisar, LCSW, and Jennifer Breheny Wallace.

The books offer guidance for four challenges many families are navigating: screens and attention, confidence and independence, achievement pressure, and meaningful connection.

You do not need to read every book. Start with the question that feels most relevant to your family and take one small step.

We're using the month to share facts including the numbers behind drowning risk, what it looks like, and small habits that make the biggest difference.
