Captain Scott Wolfe, a US Coast Guard Master Captain, has been fishing Lake Michigan continually for 46 years. Salmon and trout fishing provides a unique experience and Waukegan has deep water close to shore so more time is spent with lines in the water and less time is required to get to the fish. The boys versus the girls. Who did it better? Two bankers hours trips this week with three generations on each trip. First was the ladies who we took out to the reefs for lakers. Second was the boys who we kept in for staging salmon. The ladies wanted the bigger fish (so I guess size does matter). You have your choice now of big lakers or shallower salmon. After a month of fishing salmon we needed to see if we could remember how to catch trout. We remembered. These experienced trout anglers from Maryland were stunned at the size of Lake Michigan fish. As usual the Jimmy Fly Trolling Flies Green Guy and Warrior Voodoo and Hey Baby took them all.
