MAJOR UPDATE!

We went from 175th overall to 157th Overall in the American Royal Open.

It's true, It does taste better a couple days later!!!!

Our 11th American Royal has come and gone.
(Never got our 10 year Banner last year...???)

Went with no expectations of doing any good since we haven't cooked any contests since last October.

Had a Blast seeing all the old friends and visiting. Did I mention I hate getting up at 4:30 a.m.? Much less two days in a row! haha.

The Royal made huge profits for scholarships off of this event and I was more than happy to contribute to be reunited with all my BBQ Friends in this event.

All I'm going to say is competitive BBQ Sanctioning has changed for the worse in the accountability of the services offered and "fiduciary".

If KCBS was an airline, I damn sure wouldn't want to fly on it anymore. But if it was a Bar, I'd still go as long as I got to open the beer myself.......

As Special event at the Americal Royal is the BBQ Hall of Fame Induction ceremony and they put the Apron on some very good people this year.

When we were at an event in Wisconsin Dave Raymond of Sweet Baby Rays came to our spot and introduced himself to us. Made me feel special and that's why he is a Hall of Fame Caliber person and well deserved.

I'm especially grateful that Darren Warth Smokey D's BBQ and Bill Arnold Blues Hog were inducted into the Hall of Fame as they both have changed many lives not only in the sport but personally and professionally for many people including myself.
