Potomac Boat Club has been a background for lots of movies, but to have one of our own in a documentary… 🤯 If anyone has follow up questions after watching this, let us know if we need a post-screening panel-of-one Q&A!

Day 5 Henley Royal Regatta: The PBC Mens 4 completed a their run at the Britannia Challenge Cup with a great race against the Dutch crew KARVZ. The men had a great Berks course and race, looking strong from the start all the way to the finish. Making it to the semis is a feat as each race gets tighter and tighter and our guys never backed down each day they entered the course. Great job to all and can’t wait to see you stateside!

Day 3, Part 2: As someone just texted “HELL YEAH POTOMAC! 🇺🇸⭐️” Pbcmensweep Britannia Challenge 4+ just dominated the second round right off the start! Nicki led our guys through some rougher conditions as they kept building on their lead and this four showcased a decisive win to move on. PBC Star gets to live for another day Henley Royal Regatta CONGRATS!

Day 3: A nail biter in the Visitors’ Challenge where the Dutch crew did a quick sprint in the last 30 strokes to pass PBC in a race that our men led. Based on that finish, both crews really laid it all out and, heartbreakingly, it was not in the cards for us. A fantastic fight from this group and one of the best races we’ve seen for a first round!

Day 2 Henley Action: Thames Challenge 8 was a strong race but didn’t make it out of the second round. Britannia 4 kicked off with a smooth row down the course giving us gorgeous shots of the men cruising to win their round. Shoutout by the commentators to Phil Hoyle - we know age is just a number. And yeah, we agree it’s pretty cool to row on the Potomac.

Pbcmensweep hopped across the pond to compete in the 2026 Henley Royal Regatta. Lee Rumpf challenged them as coach to qualify and they responded. Three entries: Thames Challenge Cup, Visitors’ Challenge Cup and Britannia Challenge Cup. The Thames 8 made it through the first round today! Thames and Britannia go 7/1 and Visitors’ debuts 7/2. In Ukrainian culture, the swallow (lastivka) is a deeply revered symbol of spring, rebirth, happiness, and good news. As a harbinger of warmer, brighter days, it signifies the end of winter, fostering hope and renewal. Swallows are also cherished as symbols of family, loyalty, and protection, believed to bring prosperity to homes where they nest.

Potomac Scullers named their new single, Lastivka, an homage to former PBC Coach Vlad Pavlovskyi who dedicated himself for 3 years to raising the level of training for Open and Masters competitive scullers on the Potomac Scullers team. A symbol of spring, raced Lastivka at Rivanna Scrimmages in her inaugural regatta.
