Leadville Race Series Trail 100 done and dusted, and as ever the results sheet only tells you half of it.

Keegan Swenson Swenson made it six straight wins at the Race Across the Sky, this time he really had to earn it. A two-up sprint with Matthew Wilson Wilson after 100 miles of racing, decided the race by inches.

Melisa Rollins Rollins took her second Leadville title, soloing away after Cecily Decker punctured while they were going head to head for the lead. Brutal way to lose a race that looked won.

But the story I can’t stop thinking about is Danni Shrosbree 🍓. Went down early with Rollins at the ten kilometre mark, came away concussed and bleeding. Got back on the bike anyway and finished her race. With the new rule confirming that top ten Grand Prix finishers automatically qualify for next season, every rider out there had more on the line than usual, and Shrosbree’s ride summed up exactly what that meant.

Big news for anyone chasing a spot in the Life Time Grand Prix . From 2027, qualification is going almost entirely performance based. The top 10 women and top 10 men from this year’s final standings get an automatic invite back, alongside the top U23 finishers. The remaining 14 spots per field will now be decided at Sea Otter Classic weekend, through racing both the Gravel event and Fuego XL. The Series is also expanding back to seven rounds, with the Rad Dirt Fest returning to the calendar.

This is a huge and welcome change as it’s going to make the rest of the season really count and gives those vying for a spot a much clearer way in!
