Most Ambitious members are leaving results on the table.
Not in the gym, in the recovery room.

The sauna, cold plunge, and InBody are built into your membership. They're not extras. They're the other half of the training.

Here's how the math works: structured cold exposure improves sleep quality. Better sleep improves hormonal function. Better hormonal function improves body composition, cognitive performance, and energy, the things that matter when you're running a team or managing a portfolio.

The research on cold therapy and heat exposure is solid. The research on sleep deprivation and executive performance is more compelling. One study found that insufficient sleep independently predicted cognitive decline in middle-aged adults, which describes a significant portion of our membership.

If you're not a member, the recovery room is still accessible. Single sessions from $15, packages from $120.

If you are a member and you're not in there regularly, you're already paying for it.

"In 2014, I began looking for a fitness program that could replace my tired solo gym workouts and occasional running. I was slowly recovering from major knee surgery, north of 45 years old, and in desperate need of a program that was engaging enough to keep me coming back. I spent a year trying boot camps, group classes, even briefly considered CrossFit. It was a frustrating experience, because everything I tried resulted in re-injury, not showing results, or being too boring to keep with it.

My luck changed when I came across Ambitious Athletics. After my first month, I was hooked. Dragging myself out of bed for his 5:45AM workouts quickly went from chore to the highlight of my day. I worked hard that fall and winter, and was rewarded with the first pain-free ski season I had experienced since my surgery.

The combination strength and conditioning program has transformed my body and the way I think about health and fitness. I am far stronger than I was in my 30’s, and physically capable of things I didn’t consider possible for myself.

Even as impressive as the training program is, the Ambitious Athletics community may be just as good. It’s difficult to convey in a review how empowering an incredibly supportive community can be. Challenging each other to work harder, celebrating the results, and always looking out for each other - the community is a direct reflection of the values that Carmen strives to instill every day."

Hurting yourself is not on the agenda at our gym. We are constantly making sure that you are properly attacking each move we give you during our sessions.

But for those who are doom scrolling gym content, we dropped a little something to make sure your deadlift is injury free.

Amanda Yu has been with us since October of 2023 and has been kicking some serious 🍑. But don't take our word for it, hear it from her:

"I came to Ambitious Athletics in October 2023 after 3 months of my friend telling me I would love it because

1. the workouts are programmed so you never have to think about what you’re going to do that day,
2. the coaches are detail oriented, dedicated, and passionate, and
3. most importantly, it’s an amazing community

And she could not have been more right. In the past year and a half, I have progressed and accomplished more than I could’ve ever imagined — including running my first 10-miler, half marathon, full marathon, Spartan, and Hyrox races — and that is wholly due to the programming and the people at Ambitious. What started as a way for me to stay active and train like an athlete, brought me to the people who get me out of bed everyday and consistently bring joy and fun to challenging workouts.

My goals have become my achievements, and I have made friends for life with people who are constantly pushing me to be the best version of myself in and out of the gym.

When I walked into the Ambitious gym for the first time, I could not have known that I was making one of the best decisions of my life. A life that would not be the same without the relationships I have built and the community I have gained, and I know I would not be where I am or who I am today without the Ambitious family."

Let's welcome our newest coach! Meet Deanna.

A Towson University goalkeeper turned coach, Deanna has worked with everyone from clinical rehab patients to Paralympians.

Her philosophy is simple: meet people where they are and give them the tools to go further than they think they can.

This is the team behind Ambitious.

Training breaks you down. Recovery is what builds you back up.

Here's what's waiting for you after every session:

The sauna with red light therapy. Raises your core temperature and drives blood flow to everything that just worked. The red light built into it accelerates tissue repair at the cellular level while you decompress.

Cold plunge. Drops inflammation, resets the nervous system, and signals your body to start rebuilding instead of just surviving.

The warm plunge. The contrast between cold and warm is what actually moves fluid through the tissue and gets you ready to go again tomorrow.

Still working around something that won't quit? MovementX Physical Therapy is on-site. Dry needling, manual therapy, full movement assessment — addressed without another commute across the city.

Recovery tools available every session for the spots your training keeps loading.

And honestly, there is so much more to offer than what we're sharing here in some slides.

The pace doesn't matter. The streak does.

Some days you're pushing limits. Some days you're just showing up. Both count.

The person who has trained consistently at 70% for two years will always outperform the person who went all-out for three weeks and stopped.

Progress doesn't care how it looks. It only cares that you kept going.

"I was a member to a few gyms in the D.C. area and I was going to some of these classes for years and I don't think any of the instructors knew my name. What caught my attention with Ambitious is that they bring you in. You're important right away." Jenny May aka JMay, has been training here since 2012.

You might be the JMay before she met Ambitious. Are you endlessly cycling through different gyms in the D.C. area, but nothing is really holding you accountable? Maybe you're tired of having to re-introduce yourself ever class even though you've been there for months.

We are proud of a lot of things here, but the one thing that truly shines are the people who show up and how we show up for them when they're here.

You matter, whether your hear it from us or not. Strive for better because you deserve better.
