Fletcher’s Cove Parkrun Event #485 with 68 Parkrunners.
A hot, humid, and full of puddles and muddy day! It’s Chris Connor’s 100th Volunteering Day, thank you for your support, Chris!
We had a mishap at the turnaround today! Lien, the volunteer photographer was about to take a photo with the event day course checker, she was hit by an on coming biker. She was on the right and was knocked down on the bank of the canal and almost went down in the algae filled water. Thank God for the vines, she grabbed on them as she went down and was safe! She was a bit shaken with some cut and bruises but no broken bone. Watch out for those bikers!

CANCELLED July 4th, 2026 - The Fletcher’s Cove team has made the decision to cancel this weekend’s event due to the extreme heat and humidity that has overtaken the region and is forecast to last through Saturday. The health and safety of our volunteers and participants is our utmost concern and with a course that is almost entirely in the sun, we’ve chosen not to risk it.
Hopefully next weekend we’ll return to our “normal” hot and humid July weather. In the meantime, stay cool and enjoy the holiday weekend. Happy 4th of July!

Fletcher’s Cove Parkrun event #478!
A hot and humid morning after the rainstorm which created a lot of puddles. We still had a big turnout total 88 Parkrunners.
The global parkrun community had a tremendous milestone today as the one millionth event was held. And in the USA, the millionth parkrunner crossed the finish line. Here at Fletcher’s Cove we were joined by survivors from the Ulman Foundation Cancer to 5K program.
