Apparently we’re supposed to post on these things?
Turns out avoiding social media is much easier than avoiding jiu jitsu.
While we’ve been quiet here, we’ve been doing the usual: training a lot, learning some things, competing a little, welcoming new people, saying goodbye to a few old friends, and generally enjoying being around this crew.
Anyway. Hi again.

Jumping into 2026 like. . .
Proof that training hard and having fun go hand in hand. 🫱🏽🫲🏻🤍

As we wrap up another great year at Estilo Jiu Jitsu, we’re stepping into the New Year with even more intention. 🌟
Our mission hasn’t changed: to teach Jiu Jitsu that’s effective, empowering, and accessible—in an environment that’s challenging, supportive, fun, and safe.
Whether you’re brand new to the mats or a seasoned practitioner, there’s no better time to start—or start again.
We’re deeply invested in your growth. We’ll push you, support you, and celebrate your progress. If you show up and put in the work, the results will surprise you.
Let’s make this New Year count! 💪🏽

Progress—and the appearance of progress—varies from individual to individual. Growth isn’t linear, and it can be ugly and difficult at times. Persistence, training with intention, and accepting “failure” as important feedback are all critical to raising individual skill level, as well as those around you.
I couldn’t be more proud of our teammates who have put in the work to earn their promotions, and put in the time to help those around them. And I’m very excited to see their continued growth—in all its shapes and forms! Onwards! 👊🏽

Our hearts remain shattered by the scale of human suffering in Gaza.
We don’t post on here very often these days. While we are “only” a Jiu Jitsu school, and we find solace in our sport and our community, it is impossible to feel “normal”. And we simply cannot be silent while an entire population is being starved.
Please speak up, there is nothing controversial in opposing the mass starvation of innocent people. There is nothing controversial in opposing a genocide.
has more courage and conviction than most in the Jiu Jitsu community these days.
As holocaust survivor Primo Levi said “Monsters exist, but ... more dangerous are the common men.”
Silence is complicity. Palestinians have been subjected to the greatest atrocities of the 21st century. We cannot be selective in our compassion. Our outrage and opposition to injustice must be loud and clear, and we must value and protect EVERY human life equally. Access to aid is absolutely critical right now, and we must do everything possible to make it widely and rapidly available.
Humanitarian aid to Gaza is just a few miles away.
The roads are right there.
The trucks are right there.
The food and medicine are right there
LET. AID. IN.

Awesome, game-changing insights from this past weekend, focusing on guard play, leg attacks, and exploring missing links and transitions. It was such a pleasure to have Rob back on our mats, sharing a tremendous depth of technical knowledge, along with his innovative approach to learning and improving. We look forward to the next time 💫
