Just wanna drop this here for the record. This is just a 5 year total. So why are we so quick to preemptively kill all venomous snakes but we don't dogs? You can have your opinion but the math doesn't lie.

Them folks wanted her dead last night. Baseball bats and machetes were at ready. She was scared and hiding underneath a small bush warning them to not come closer....... Did you know that a female timber won't start reproducing until the ages of around 7 to 10 years old? Males around 5 to 7? You know what the odds of a urban female timber reaching 10 years old to give her first birth? Extremely slim.... When you really start thinking about it it's amazing we really ever see them around here. I don't ask you to love them and have one as a pet I just ask that you show a little grace and let nature live. πππ

Ok y'all let's talk about the common "black snake". Sometimes the term is used as its own species but the reality is there isn't a species called black snake. And as you can see in the photos all are different species and all are black.
1st photo is a melanistic hognose. Hoggies can come in a wide variety of colors which includes all black.
2nd is the eastern king snake. This snake is often easily identified by the chain link pattern that runs the length of its back
3rd is the most common snake we have and that's the rat snake. These guys start out typically a very light grey color with really visible patterns and as they age will often turn solid black and the pattern is still visible but sometimes hard to see from a distance.
4th is the black racer. These guys start out with a heavily visible pattern also and as they age turn solid black with no visible pattern as adults.
So when we π snakes saying black snake might state the obvious because of their colors but that doesn't positively id the snakes actual species. πππ

FB didn't like the length of the original video which was nearly 10 minutes so I edited it down to be FB friendly and so it's not so boring watching me trying to get Jeff out. But in the end Jeff was fine and released unharmed. πππ

Go go speed racer. This makes about the 12th black racer that I have relocated from the same residence in the past couple years. And while I don't mind removing them when absolutely necessary I do always recommend to leave racers as well as rat snakes and king snakes or most commonly known as "black snakes" alone
It's sad that I have to make this post what seems like multiple times a year but here we are again.
First and foremost, my page and my services are pro snake and pro education. I do not kill or harm any of the snakes I capture. 100% of the snakes I get are returned alive and well with the only exceptions to this being if the snake was wounded before I got there and I've determined it probably won't live long and I will go ahead and dispatch them so they don't just suffer. If you don't agree with what I do with my own time and free will I really don't care. I didn't ask for your permission to start with and I'm not doing it for you.
While I appreciate all the engagement I get here on my page you're only going to comment once or twice telling me you would've killed it or I should've killed it or any other of your ignorant comments before you're blocked from commenting. I don't run my page just to see how many comments and views I can get so please think about it before you type it.
To the rest of you that follow me and are here for my services and the educational value, thank you. Without you there is no me. Together there's no telling how many π have been saved and gone on to serve the purpose that they do.
