"Brazilian Jiu Jitsu represents longevity". Awesome words from this week's member highlight, Michael. Michael is a lifelong martial artist who recently made the switch over to BJJ after a long career in taekwondo. We've said it before but we always love to see people who have mastered something in life switch over to something where they have no expertise. It takes a very specific type of mind to be okay with starting from scratch and we're honored whenever we get the chance to be that new activity for someone!

"Are you guys that gym that does all that complicated guard work".... Yes. BUT fundamental positions.and "basic" movements are the foundation of any good BJJ game. If you watched worlds, you saw it. How many sweeps did we see that were effectively the same thing we saw in this video? Build your base.

This week's member highlight is going to be a little different. This week we have straight off his first time at worlds. We encourage any of our students who want to compete to go for it and that's exactly what Noah did. Going 1-1 at worlds is no easy task and it doesn't happen without long hours in the training room and a ton of dedication to becoming the best version of yourself that you can. We're proud to have students like Noah representing our gym on big stages and can't wait to see what the future has in store for him.
