September 10th all day with two Dads and their Kids! We had John, Chase & Carter McAdam and Jake, Riley & Trent Haab all from Pennsylvania with us today. This was one of those “truly custom” trips that the customer asked about one thing and the Captain suggested another because he kinda knew what they wanted and what we hopefully could deliver! At the end of the day, the Dads said they wanted the kids busy AND some EXTRA HEAVY pulling IF possible??? OK Pop’s we got you on this one, sit back and enjoy the day!
Long story short it was immediate all you could handle inshore bluefish bites, then some sweet spanish mackerel added to the mix……then the beautiful ride out to where we hoped the bruisers were waiting.
We use rod/reel combos that are dedicated to catching amberjack over a variety of bottom and depths. When these rascals hit, it’s mean/it’s nasty/ you’d better hold on to that rod kinda action! These things pull hard!
This wonderful day ended with a front that came through a few hours earlier than “predicted”. But this IS the Outer Banks and we’ve been through this more than once! Slow down/drop your bow and let the boat do her job, cut the seas like she was made to do! No worries, just another great day to be alive Fishing off the Outer Banks of NC!
