You probably don’t need more stretching.
Feeling “tight” doesn’t automatically mean you need more flexibility.
Sometimes you already have the range of motion. What you’re missing is the strength and control to actually use it.
That’s why simply stretching the same area over and over may provide some temporary relief without really changing much.
Instead, think about building strength through the ranges you want to improve:
“Tight” hamstrings? Try loading them through RDLs.
“Tight” hips? Split squats can build strength through a larger range.
Uncomfortable at the bottom of a squat? Spend time getting stronger there.
Stretching absolutely has a place, especially when you truly lack the range of motion required for a movement.
But before automatically stretching something because it feels tight, ask yourself:
Do I actually lack the range of motion, or do I need to get stronger and more comfortable using the range I already have?
Mobility isn’t just about getting into a position. It’s about being able to control it.
