We had a blast day 1 Total Archery Challenge Snowriver event! Beautiful weather, a lil breezy but not too hot. Course was a fun but fair challenge! No arrows lost today!! We built a whole family trip around this event, needless to say its been an unforgettable week! 🎯

I challenge every Michigan hunter to attend at least 1 NRC commission meeting to see and understand how the NRC and the DNR really work. So many of us talk like experts online.... the DNR this and the DNR that but after spending a full day listening to both sides and learning how they seem to operate its really not so simple.

In Michigan we have complicated issues and the choices / reg changes can have ripple effects for years or more.

I can tell you I was pleasantly suprised at the interactions today from both the NRC and the DNR. I enjoyed listening to the speakers too, I think its good to sit in a room and listen to others who have differing opinions or views. There are so many different opinions on deer regulations... but u can feel the passion everyone has for the resource. Not everyone is gonna agree on everything and you cant make every one happy but everyone should have a say and be able to share thier voice and thats exactly what happened today.

Its important to be involved and I think I might start trying to attend more of these meetings...
It was also nice to see good friends and make some new ones. I left the meeting feeling a sense of pride that maybe we can help enact change in Michigan and be the best Michigan we can be. We don't need to be Iowa, but why cant we make it 20% better??

P.S. we really suck at shooting does in zone 3 here.....

Just like I did when I was 12 years old, I climbed every tree I could reach a branch on these state lands!
Pretty cold sit with the wind but cant break tradition!

Been testing the Latitude Ranger 33 for several weeks and found it to be a worthy pack! The 33 liter pack is about 2,013 cubic inches and more than enough room for the self filmer or somone who likes to haul extra layers in the stand. Definitely one pack worth checking out if you need a little more space for goodies!
