At OCR Soccer Academy, my goal is not to make a player look good during a training session.
My goal is to help them become more effective when the game gets difficult.
A great first touch.
Receiving with the correct body shape.
Scanning before the ball arrives.
Dribbling with purpose.
Passing with the right weight and timing.
Making quicker decisions under pressure.
Playing with confidence.
The fundamentals matter.
But learning a skill is only the first step.
Players must learn WHEN, WHERE, and WHY to use it.
That’s why OCR training is built around technical development, repetition, competition, and game-realistic environments. We teach the skill — then challenge the player to apply it. 🧠⚽
With 10 years of coaching experience, experience across multiple Central Valley high school programs, 3 Valley titles, collegiate coaching, and UPSL coaching, I’ve been fortunate to work in different competitive environments.
Now I want to bring those experiences into every OCR session and help develop the next generation of players.

The art of practice lies in consistently showing up and putting in the effort.
While many people engage in practice, it often falls short of being effective and doesn’t translate well to real-game situations.
The key is to learn a technique or skill and build upon it.
The process may be slow and repetitive at times, but eventually, it clicks.
You become unrecognizable, and everyone starts to wonder, “How?”
This game is all about problem-solving.
It’s challenging to have answers to questions you didn’t even know existed.
After each session, take a moment to reflect on what you worked on and how you can apply it to your games. If you don’t have a clear answer, it might be time to start there.
With each new week, new opportunities present themselves, and the decision is yours to make.
Choose to stay the same or actively work on improving yourself.
Time flies, and before you know it, it’ll be too late.
