Bruno Fallon spent 40 years in the special operations community: Army Ranger Battalion at 17, then Special Forces, then flight school to become an MH 47 Chinook flight lead with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, the Night Stalkers. Between 30 years of active duty and ten more with the Department of Defense, he logged over six years of hostile fire combat time across Afghanistan, Iraq, the Horn of Africa, and the Philippines. Today he’s Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Special Events at the Sawmill Training Complex.
Bruno doesn’t hold back on out of shape police officers and firefighters. His position: there’s no excuse for any first responder to not be fit, because “it’s not about you, you’re there for somebody else.” He lays out what he sees as a systemic problem in law enforcement, departments that skimp on fi****ms training and hands on control tactics, and makes the case for why every officer should be training Brazilian jiu jitsu to avoid unnecessary escalations of force.
We also get into what it was like flying the MH 47 in combat, why the 160th is suddenly in the spotlight after the Venezuela operation, his take on the Bin Laden raid, why he still trains every day, sometimes twice, at 61, and what he learned running a national SWAT competition at the Sawmill.
It’s not your metabolism.
It’s fork lifts and sit downs.

When you take a quantity > quality approach to nutrition this often means hitting your calorie needs far easier than you’d like.
This is why I prefer a quality > quantity approach where you focus first and foremost on improving the overall quality of your diet which typically results in higher food volume, greater satiation, and less overall calories consumed.
This episode of Truth Serum Podcast with Tyler Minton dives deep into all things calories, macros, and food quality. If your diet needs work, don’t miss this one!

Metabolism doesn’t slow down at 30, and you don’t need to pick a side between “calories are all that matter” and “just eat clean.” In this episode, I break down the three-layer framework that cuts through nearly all nutrition confusion: calories determine what you weigh, macros determine how you look, and quality determines how you feel.
You’ll learn why most weight gain has nothing to do with a broken metabolism, how basal metabolic rate actually works, why protein intake changes your body composition independent of calories, and why food quality affects your mood and hunger even when calories are matched. If you’ve ever wondered which diet or influencer to trust, this episode gives you the filter to decide for yourself.
