Not all regulation looks like slowing down.

At MOOD, we help you explore movement, stillness, music, art, breath, and daily habits so you can understand YOUR nervous system and find what actually brings YOU back into balance.

Some dreams stay ideas.
This one became a room full of people. šŸ’›

It’s Saturday morning, and I’ve been reflecting on the last six weeks.

When I announced a beta program called The Regulation Reset Lab, I had no idea what it would become. I knew the information. I believed in the mission. But there was still that little voice that wondered…

Will this actually help people?

Over six weeks, I watched strangers become a community. I watched people become more aware of themselves, share pieces of their stories, celebrate wins, support one another, and begin looking at their nervous systems with curiosity instead of judgment.

I thought I was creating a class.

What I didn’t realize was that we would create something together.

Every question they asked, every suggestion they offered, every story they shared helped shape this program into something better than I could have ever created on my own.

When I handed them their certificates on Wednesday night, I expected to feel proud.

I didn’t expect to feel…grateful.

Grateful that they trusted me with an idea that didn’t have years of testimonials behind it.
Grateful that they said yes before there was proof.
Grateful that they reminded me that sometimes you don’t need certainty to take the first step - you just need the courage to begin.

I’ve spent years working on myself and learning.
Trying to find my purpose. Knowing it involved helping people

Driving home Wednesday night it dawned on me that this wasn’t just a six week class, this was the vision I’d been building for years - finally coming to fruition.

This was the very first Regulation Reset Lab.

It definitely won’t be the last.

To my founding group…thank you for believing in me, for showing up, and for helping bring this dream to life.

My heart is so full. šŸ’›

šŸ’« Grounded Reset šŸ’«

So very grateful for this group yesterday who showed up for themselves. Through breath work, light stretching & guided meditation, they left feeling ā€œgratefulā€, ā€œpositiveā€ & ā€œpowerfulā€!

I don’t think you could ask for better reviews than these simple words.

Come join us at next month’s class!

Last night was the first session of The Regulation Reset Lab. šŸ’›

I’ll be honest - I was a little nervous.

I had my lesson plan ready, my binders prepared, and what felt like a million little details organized. What I didn’t have quite right was the timing. šŸ˜†

Somewhere between the discussion, questions, and everyone’s willingness to share and explore, we ran over our scheduled time.

And honestly? I’m okay with that.
And so was the group!

One of the things I reminded the group last night is that awareness comes before change. Sometimes that means slowing down enough to have the conversation instead of rushing to the next slide, worksheet, or activity.

Everyone asked thoughtful questions.
The discussion was real.
And I left feeling incredibly grateful for a room full of people willing to learn more about themselves.

Was it perfect? Nope.

Did I learn things I’ll adjust for next week? Absolutely.

But that’s the beauty of a beta experience - for them and for me.

I’m excited to see where the next five weeks take us.

Listening to my body may very well have saved my life! (And YES I’m fine - it’s just been a weird few days.)

My 3 day weekend quickly turned into a 5 day weekend Thursday morning. I finished my workout and had nothing left to give! I walked out to my car and wasn’t feeling great. A feeling I’d had before when pushing too hard in a workout. No big deal, I knew how to work through it.

I sat in my car, deep breathing to slow my heart rate. I looked at the clock - ā€œCrap! I’m gonna be late for work, I’ll be fine to get going.ā€

That thought was almost immediately followed by another round of cold sweats which kept me from driving.

I thought ā€œMaybe I need to go back inside.ā€ My quads activated with a thought of ā€œyou won’t make it insideā€

I opened my door right as my coach walked out of the gym and was able to beep my car horn one time. She came over & within about a minute I had passed out coupled with a few seconds of convulsing.

A short ambulance ride (which I’d never done!) and an entire day in the ER - and while we’re still not 100% sure what happened, I have follow up appointments made.

Pretty sure it was just a mix of various things that created a perfect storm in my efforts to be an overachiever!

While I don’t know yet what caused it all to happen - I DO know that had I not listened to my body in those moments to not drive or walk - things could have been so much worse.

The last few days have been spent doing simple walks in the park, chilling with my pups & a couple days of live music / dancing! And of course over analyzing every signal that my body is sending me šŸ˜

I don’t share this to be dramatic - I share it in hopes that it will help others begin paying attention.

Our bodies are always telling us something. Through our sleep, our fatigue, our illnesses - there’s so many ways - we just have to learn how to listen.

Redirection is simply protection.
Alignment wrapped in grace & love.

Delays aren’t rejection.

They’re alignment or redirection.

Save this when you start to doubt the timing šŸ’«

Are your excuses disguised as grace?

My alarm went off at 4:21am. Mica was up most of the night not feeling well which meant I was up most of the night. I did NOT want to get out of bed.

ā€œI can go to the gym after workā€ (except that requires I get out of work early which may or may not happen).

ā€œOldā€ Heather, would’ve given myself grace to miss my workout. But this morning, I knew it was just an excuse.

Don’t get it twisted - there are Absolutely days/instances where grace is needed and I allow for that and so should you.

I’ve also gotten much better at calling myself on my own bull šŸ’©. And so should you!

Your future self will thank you!

If you need help figuring out how that looks - let’s chat - it’s sorta what I help folks with!
