Santosha, or contentment, invites us to notice what is already here.
It’s easy to spend our energy focusing on what we don’t have yet, what we wish were different, or what we think we need in order to feel fulfilled. But practicing gratitude gently shifts our attention back to what we do have.
Gratitude doesn’t mean we can’t have goals, desires, or hopes for the future. It simply reminds us that our contentment doesn’t have to wait for those things to arrive.
The more we practice noticing the little things that are already enough
a warm cup of tea, our feet on the earth, a safe place to rest, a moment of quiet
the more we begin to find contentment in the present moment.
Hope to see you in class this Sunday!
