Support conservation while diving gorgeous reefs! Diving in Micronesia offers an extraordinary opportunity to explore vibrant coral reefs, diverse marine life, and the close connections between island communities and the ocean. Palau established the world’s 1st shark sanctuary, allowing reefs to recover their full range of biodiversity. Join us on an Oceanic Society Expedition in January 2027 to experience these incredible reefs.
The Oceanic Society is America’s oldest non-profit organization dedicated to ocean conservation. Founded in San Francisco in 1969, it works to protect marine wildlife and habitats through research, global eco-expeditions, plastic pollution reduction, and community education programs.
For this trip, you will learn how to identify and survey sharks, reef fish, and corals & collect data to help understand and protect these beautiful and critical ecosystems. In this presentation, Dr. Michelle Paddack will share the how and why of being a citizen scientist and about diving across Micronesia.
