Ventura's defense kept the Pirates' women's soccer team within striking distance throughout the match Tuesday at Saddleback, but the Bobcats' lone goal in the 18th minute proved decisive in VC's 1-0 setback in Mission Viejo. The Pirate football team got on track Saturday with a resounding 33-20 victory at No. 9-ranked Fullerton. Leading the charge was running back LaRevious Woods, who rushed for 218 yards and three touchdowns, including a 59-yard breakaway score in the third quarter. The sophomore from St. Louis, MO carried the ball 21 times, averaging 10.4 yards per rush, and had one pass reception for 11 yards for the 14th-ranked Pirates. LaRevious Woods rushed for 218 yards and three touchdowns, including a 59-yard breakaway score in the third quarter, as the Pirate football team got back on track with a solid 33-20 victory at No. 9-ranked Fullerton Saturday. The VC men's water polo team completed a 4-0 weekend at the West Valley Tournament in Saratoga, easily defeating Las Positas and San Joaquin Delta, 22-8 and 23-4, respectively. Yohan Arizaga scored 10 goals through the two contests and Lorenzo Russell found the inside of the cage eight times with eight steals. The Ventura College women's soccer team battled, but ultimately fell to Irvine Valley 3-2 Saturday in the final game of the Adidas Community College Showcase at the VC Sportsplex. Anayah Davis scored both goals for the Pirates while Isabella Hurtado earned the assist on each score. The VC volleyball team had an epic day Friday, reverse sweeping No. 22-ranked San Bernardino Valley, 16-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-17, 15-12 before dropping the final three sets against No. 7 Santa Monica with a 2-0 lead, 20-25, 11-25, 25-22, 25-13, 15-13 at the Pasadena Quad. Alana Shields led the offense for the No. 17-ranked Pirates with 29 kills on the day to go along with 25 digs defensively. The Ventura College men's water polo team posted a pair of wins at the West Valley Tournament in Saratoga Friday, defeating Merced 13-9 before routing Diablo Valley 19-5. Timothy Pribyl totaled eight goals on the day while Mats Bax recorded five scores with three steals and three assists in the two games. Mack Munger totaled 18 saves in the cage to anchor the defense. The Ventura College women's soccer team couldn't find their groove Thursday, falling 3-0 to visiting San Francisco to end the first day of the Adidas Community College Showcase at the VC Sportsplex. Anayah Davis and Tatiana Padilla each recorded a shot on goal for VC while goal keeper Sofie Stock made five saves in net. Defender Isabel Schneider also played well fr the Pirates in the game. The VC men's water polo team opened the 2026 season Thursday, dropping an overtime thriller at NCAA Division II UC Merced, 16-15. Timothy Pribyl led the way with five goals while goalie Mack Munger recorded 15 saves wit hthree steals in the cage. The Pirates led the Bobcats 13-10 late in the fourth quarter before the hosts rallied to send the game to overtime in the final three minutes of regulation play.

The Pirate volleyball team responded to an opening-set loss by pulling even in the second, but Ventura fell 3-1 to Pasadena at the Athletic Event Center Wednesday.
