Year after year, we partner with amazing local, national, and sometimes international artists or brand partners for a One-of-a-Kind surfboard for the event’s auction.

This year we partnered with local artist Sydney Fisk. Sydney Fisk is a California artist, landscape architect, and founder of Clarkspur Designs Clarkspur Designs | Celebrating Place Inspired by native plants and wildlife, she creates richly detailed illustrations celebrating the species and landscapes that shape our sense of home.
Inspired by a lifelong love of the outdoors, each of Sydney’s original illustrations celebrates the plants and animals that make a place unique.

The surfboard Sydney designed for us could be our most spectacular surfboard donation in 25 years. It features Sydney’s hand-drawn marine and botanical life, all of which are native to La Jolla, the home of the Legends of Science event. This stunning board raised $5,500.00 for Cancer research!!! Thank you Sydney for partnering with us to help fight cancer! 🙏🏄‍♂️

“Good evening. I wanted to thank you all so very much for my new surfboard. I cannot tell you how much joy it is currently bringing me.
In 2020, my family and I quarantined in North Carolina. It was there that I taught myself to surf and fell head over heels in love with it all at the ripe old age of 45. For those first six years, I surfed a soft top board. For more than 2 years, I looked at buying a new surfboard, ultimately deciding on the 9’6” Magic Model. I’ve been riding it now since May, every time we are at the beach, and am absolutely stoked with my choice. I wanted to send you all my thanks for creating something that has brought me so much happiness. Peace be with you all!”
