Thank you to every single one of our members and friends who came and participated or lent a hand for week, each week and everything in between. ✨
We think it’s pretty cool that our club continues to grow at such a rate that we can host such a fun and successful inter-club tourney. But we have our sights set on expansion and beyond! So stay tuned!

As we move in to our mini break, we had a really special session today.
First off, welcoming in to the fold .campbellk who joined us while on holiday from the UK and who we haven’t seen since Nationals in 2024 when she played with Cheshire County (and beat our ass.) So great to meet you properly and have you with us! Such a star! ⭐️
Second of all, we got to honor somebody incredibly special to us. There isn’t a single person who has come to Santa Monica Spirits who wouldn’t have taken notice of, or come to love the one and only Fiona Angus
Fiona has been a member of this club for many, many years and we have seen her represent the pink and black with such ferocity and unmatched passion year in and year out. She is a true athlete; Fee is tireless, she’s strong and a total menace to play against. She’s also the first person to be on that sideline jumping up and down, cheering on her side (so loudly you can hear her from courts away) and making sure everyone feels seen, valued and supported.
Our Fee has also been fighting her own battle on the sideline this year with a breast cancer diagnosis that rocked her world. And still, as Fee as Fee is, has been to training every single week, whether or not she had a treatment a week or a day before. She not only shows up, but continues to be an absolute force. She demonstrates to every single person around her what we are truly capable of, to never take your health or fitness for granted and what a privilege it is to play netball in a country where netball barely exists, with people you love.
Our Fee, we are with you every step of the way. Cancer doesn’t even know who it’s dealing with. But we do. And it’s in TROUBLE.

LAST NETBALL SESSION FOR A FEW WEEKS!
Bit of confusion from last week’s post (sorry!)
But netball is ON this week and it’s going to be a special one. 🩷
We will then take a break for a couple of weeks so everyone can soak up their summer weekends, and we will return August 22nd for the final round of the Supershot tournament!

We are thrilled to announce our June player of the month was the fabulous - Jane Wall!
Jane is a newer member of the Spirits but has been one of our most consistent attendees all year. She shows up close to, if not first every single week and gives it her absolute all, week in and week out.
She listens to and applies coaching feedback and asks great questions, which all came to a head with an absolutely stellar performance in the last round of SSSN, playing some of her best netball yet!
Jane also is just a lovely person, who brings so much warmth, kindness and a positive attitude to our club. We are very lucky to have her! 🩷🖤

Huge well done to everyone who made it down today. It was another hot one, but a little heat can’t stop the spirits! 🔥
Some two on drills, a little wall re-intro, getting our brains and our communication going. And then in to some serious game time!
Great to see our old bestie Adrian as well!
Also - I lied. NETBALL IS ON NEXT WEEK. I repeat - NETBALL IS ON NEXT WEEK. But that actually is the last one for a while… so see you there!!

Talk about a sweat sesh…
HOT LA day today but Spirits showed up and let it all out on the court today. Worked on some screen work, circle entry and defense tactics pertaining to the goal circle.
And followed up with a bunch of game time!
