A new week means another opportunity to begin. 🐴

H.O.T. Equestrian Academy (HOTEA) has a limited number of weekday riding lesson openings available with instructor Alli.

Our structured Western riding program is designed for children and adults—from complete beginners taking their first lesson to experienced riders ready to strengthen their skills.

New riders begin with an Intro Lesson so we can learn about their goals, evaluate their experience, and help them take the right next step.

What does a riding lesson at HOTEA really look like? 🐴

It looks like learning how to prepare and care for your horse.

It looks like practicing balance, coordination and clear communication.

It looks like trying again when something is difficult—and discovering that you can do more than you thought.

Our students don’t simply ride in circles. Every lesson has a purpose, a skill and a path forward. We use the CanterLope curriculum!

HOTEA offers structured Western riding instruction for children and adults, including complete beginners.

More than just riding lessons. ❤️🐴

In 2009, Emily was a young rider learning in the H.O.T. Equestrian Academy lesson program.

Today, in 2026, she manages Sundown Oaks Pet Retreat.

Over the years, the lessons grew into something much bigger than riding: responsibility, confidence, communication, leadership, problem-solving, and the ability to care for animals who depend on you.

At HOTEA, we teach riders how to handle a horse—but we also teach them to show up prepared, work through challenges, accept instruction, care for others and believe in what they are capable of accomplishing.

Those are skills that leave the arena with them.

They carry into school, work, relationships and leadership. They help young riders grow into capable adults.

Emily’s journey is a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do.
