Utica Blue Sox The Official Facebook Home of the Utica Blue Sox, part of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League Dimensions are LF 324, LC 380, C 400, RC 380, RF 324.

The Utica Blue Sox is one of 14 ball clubs in the Upstate New York region that play in a wooden bat summer league known as the “Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League” (PGCBL). The team is mostly comprised of D1 college and university players from around the country! The PGCBL league is affiliated with Perfect Game USA, the largest independent scouting service in the country used by MLB. In 2013, more than 1,300 professional players and 85% of all MLB draftees had either worn the uniform of a PGCBL team or participated in a Perfect Game USA event. All players in the league must have NCAA eligibility remaining in order to participate. Players are not paid so as to maintain their college eligibility. Each team plays an eight-week, 42-game schedule from June to July with playoffs and championship game in early August. The Utica Blue Sox play their home games at Donovan Stadium at Murnane Field in Utica, New York. It was formerly the home of Utica Brewers.

*Side note- Formerly the Utica Brewers, the 2016 team has now been renamed to the Utica Blue Sox. The Blue Sox were a minor league baseball that played in the Short-Season A classification New York - Penn League from 1977–2001. The NYP Blue Sox affiliations through the years include Toronto Blue Jays from 1977–80, independent from 1981–85, Philadelphia Phillies from 1986–87, Chicago White Sox from 1988–92, Boston Red Sox from 1993–95, and Florida Marlins from 1996 until 2001. The ballpark has a capacity of 4,000 people and opened in 1976.

🚨 ROSTER SPOT EARNED! 🚨

Congratulations to JJ Ortiz on officially earning a roster spot at Palm Beach Atlantic University! ⚾️🌴

A Rome, NY native, JJ has been part of the Blue Sox family since 2021 and has trained consistently with the Blue Sox staff since 2023. We’ve had a front-row seat to the work, development, and commitment he’s put in to reach this point.

JJ will now take his game to the NCAA Division II level with Palm Beach Atlantic, competing in the highly competitive Sunshine State Conference.

From Rome to South Florida — the work continues. We’re proud to see another Blue Sox athlete earn an opportunity at the next level.

⚾💙 THAT’S A WRAP FROM COOPERSTOWN! 💙⚾

What a journey for our 2026 Junior Utica Blue Sox 12U Cooperstown team!

After months of practices, games, tournaments and preparation, our boys earned the opportunity to spend an unforgettable week competing at Cooperstown Dreams Park.

The Blue Sox finished their Cooperstown run with a 3–4 record, and we could not be prouder of this team!

Some highlights from an incredible week:

⚾ An extra-inning victory to open the tournament
⚾ A 4–3 win over USA Prime behind a complete-game pitching performance
⚾ A 17–2 victory to close out pool play
💣 Multiple home runs, including a two-HR game from Aiden and a three-run shot from Jackson
🔥 Ryan delivered a 69-pitch complete game, allowing just two hits and one earned run
⚡ A 17-run offensive explosion with 15 hits and 16 stolen bases
🧤 Big defensive plays, clutch hits and contributions throughout the roster

But Cooperstown was about much more than the scoreboard.

It was about competing together, representing the Junior Utica Blue Sox, overcoming adversity, building friendships and creating memories these players and families will carry with them for years.

A huge THANK YOU to our players, coaches, parents and families who made this journey possible. Getting a team to Cooperstown takes tremendous commitment, and we couldn’t have asked for a better group.

To our 2026 team — congratulations on an incredible season and unforgettable Cooperstown experience! 💙⚾

⚾💙 DAY 5 AT COOPERSTOWN DREAMS PARK — WEATHER WINS ONE, BLUE SOX WIN ONE! 💙⚾

Mother Nature had some different plans for Day 5 in Cooperstown!

We were scheduled for two games on Thursday, but we only managed to get one in before the weather took over. Heavy rain led to flooding around the park and even knocked out power for a few hours. 🌧️⛈️

Before the storms arrived, though, the Blue Sox came ready to play!

🔥 BLUE SOX 17 — SUDBURY ROAD WARRIORS 2 🔥

The bats exploded for 15 hits, the boys stole 16 bases, turned a double play, and played error-free defense!

⚾ Oliver Kessinger — perfect 4-for-4 from the leadoff spot
⚾ Aiden Pacicca — 3-for-4 with a double and 3 strong innings on the mound, allowing just 1 run
⚾ Liam Martinez — multi-hit game
⚾ Connor Griffin & Jackson Goux — multi-hit game and Griffin came on in relief
⚡ Ryan, Aiden, Oliver, Liam, Ezra, and Jackson each swiped multiple bases

A complete team win and a great way to finish pool play!

Now the schedule changes.

Because yesterday’s second game was washed out, PLAYOFF BASEBALL begins this morning at 8:30 AM! 🔥

The Blue Sox head into bracket play as the #13 seed and will face the #20 seed this morning.

Everything that happened before today is behind us.

Win and keep playing. Lose, and our Cooperstown journey comes to an end.

One game at a time. One inning at a time.

⚾💙 DAY 4 AT COOPERSTOWN DREAMS PARK 💙⚾

Day 4 was a tough one on the scoreboard, but that’s part of the Cooperstown experience — getting the opportunity to step on the field against teams and players from across the country and compete.

In Game 4, the Blue Sox faced the tournament’s #1-seeded team, a loaded roster featuring nationally ranked talent. The Sox continued to battle, with Connor, Oliver and Jackson each collecting hits. Connor drove in our run, and one positive that deserves recognition: the Blue Sox played error-free defense.

In Game 5, we took on Grind Cooperstown. Owen picked up a hit and drove in our run, while the defense turned a double play.

It wasn’t our day, and we’re certainly not going to pretend the scoreboard says otherwise. But Cooperstown was never just about wins and losses.

It’s about competing against great baseball teams, experiencing the game at a different level, making memories with your teammates, and learning how to come back the next day after things don’t go your way.

And that’s exactly what we’ll do.

Two more pool-play games today. New day. Clean slate. Time to get back after it.
