🩵🩵🩵The Heart of HOH🩵🩵🩵

On August 30th, we had the chance to do something we don’t get to do often enough with our Volunteers. Slow down, learn together, laugh together, share a meal, and celebrate the incredible people who make so much of what happens at Horses of Hope possible.

Our volunteers give an astonishing 800–900 hours every single month.

They show up when it’s hot. They show up when it’s cold. They show up in the rain and mud, and the glorious sunny days too. They help care for our horses, support our participants, help with programs, tackle projects, and quietly do a thousand little things that keep Horses of Hope moving forward.

Our Volunteer Summit was a chance to pour a little love back into them. 🩵

We spent the first part of the day talking all things horses and going through each member of our herd, sharing their personalities, favorite things, quirks, and the little details that make each one so wonderfully unique.

They learned a few simple acupressure points volunteers can use to help our horses feel their best, along with a pole exercise designed to encourage better posture and body awareness.

And then… we ate! 😋

We wrapped up the day with time to visit, connect, and enjoy a delicious lunch from Qdoba generously sponsored by our Board of Directors.

Horses of Hope simply would not be what it is without our volunteers. Their time is valuable. Their commitment is extraordinary. And the love they give our horses and participants can be felt everywhere on this property.

To every person who gives us an hour, an afternoon, a muddy pair of boots, or a hundred hours of their year…

Thank you for showing up. Thank you for caring. Thank you for being the Heart of Horses of Hope.

☕️🩵 WE HAVE BIG NEWS, HOH FRIENDS! 🩵☕️

This Friday, September 18, Horses of Hope Oregon is honored to be the local recipient of Dutch Bros, Buck for Kids!

For ONE DAY ONLY, when you grab your favorite drink at one of the participating Marion County Dutch Bros locations, $1 from every drink sold will help support local youth through Horses of Hope Oregon.

Those dollars will help us continue creating opportunities for kids to grow in confidence, connection, and joy alongside our incredible horses. Funds will support our youth programs, the horses who make them possible, and new games and sensory experiences designed especially for the kids we serve.

And really… how often can you help kids and horses simply by buying coffee?

Big shout out to Corban University University for their volunteer help! Students helped clear brush for our new horse turn out, trimmed trees, cleaned pastures, leveled trails out, and helped clean the interior of the barn. We always look forward to their visit and continued volunteer help! Best of luck in the school year!
