Lerenzo Fagan Jr
Defensive End | Tulsa Gators
2026 Great Plains Defensive Player of the Year
Written by Coach C – SemiPro GameDay
Some players are born with talent.
Others are forged through adversity.
Lerenzo Fagan Jr. is the perfect example of what happens when relentless determination meets elite ability. His journey to becoming the 2026 Great Plains Defensive Player of the Year wasn't handed to him. It was earned through countless hours of work, perseverance through difficult moments, and an unwavering belief that his opportunity would come.
When it finally did, he made sure everyone knew his name.
And he played the game exactly how he lived it—never taking a play off and never backing down.
Week after week, Fagan was nothing short of a nightmare for opposing offenses.
Quarterbacks never felt comfortable. Running backs rarely found daylight. Offensive coordinators built game plans around slowing him down, yet very few found an answer.
Watching him in person is an experience all its own.
His first step is simply different.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again.....the offensive tackle is still taking his very first step while Fagan is already on step number ten. His explosion off the line is almost unfair. That rare combination of speed, power, leverage, and relentless effort allows him to wreck plays before they ever have a chance to develop.
He doesn't just beat blockers.
He overwhelms them.
And the numbers prove every bit of it:
✅️17.5 sacks
✅️27 tackles for loss
✅️52 total tackles
✅️79 quarterback pressures
Those aren't just outstanding statistics.....they're the production of one of the most dominant defensive seasons the Great Plains Conference has ever witnessed.
But Fagan's impact extended far beyond the stat sheet.
He became the heartbeat of a ferocious Tulsa Gators defense that embraced toughness, speed, and physicality every Saturday. His leadership and relentless motor helped propel the Gators to an outstanding 9-1 record and an appearance in the Great Plains Conference Championship, setting the tone for one of the conference's most dominant teams.
Every snap, every pursuit, every collision reflected the standard he set.
When the biggest moments arrived, so did Big Zo.
The future remains incredibly bright for one of the CMFL's most feared defenders, and if 2026 was any indication, offenses across the league will continue losing sleep whenever No. 0 lines up across from them.
Congratulations to Lerenzo Fagan Jr. of the Tulsa Gators, your 2026 Great Plains Defensive Player of the Year.

Well deserved 😤🐊
We are so proud of this guy, he did so much for the squad this season; from stepping into a huge QB role and balling to leading our special teams in almost every category, and even made some impact plays on defense🔥
This guy LEGIT lives up to the nickname “Swiss Army Knife” and belongs on another level somewhere👀 Glad to have him on our side
Good job Rook‼️
Cunu Fields Named 2026 CMFL Co-Offensive Rookie of the Year
Written by Coach C | SemiPro GameDay
Long before the 2026 season kicked off, there was already a buzz surrounding the Tulsa Gators' offseason workouts. During winter OTAs, coaches and teammates couldn't stop talking about one young player who seemed capable of doing just about everything on a football field.
As it turned out, those whispers weren't exaggerations.
That player was Cunu Fields.
From the very first time he stepped onto the field, Fields showcased a rare combination of athleticism, versatility, football IQ, and toughness that made him one of the most unique players in the Central Midwest Football League. Whether the Gators needed a quarterback, a defensive playmaker, or a reliable specialist on special teams, Fields answered the call every single time.
Simply put, he became the definition of a complete football player.
Offensively, Fields gave Tulsa another dangerous weapon at quarterback, proving he could beat defenses with both his arm and his legs. Despite starting just one game at quarterback, he appeared in four contests under center and finished with an impressive 11 total touchdowns—eight through the air and three on the ground—while accounting for 622 all-purpose passing and rushing yards and posting an outstanding 85.7 quarterback rating.
But his impact didn't stop when the offense left the field.
Defensively, Fields embraced the physical side of the game, becoming a dependable contributor in the secondary. In just six games on defense, including one start, he recorded 42 total tackles, 21 solo stops, one interception, and five pass breakups. Even more impressive, quarterbacks rarely found success throwing in his direction, as he surrendered just one reception all season and did not allow a single touchdown in coverage.
And if that wasn't enough, he made his presence felt on special teams as well.
Fields handled kicking duties with remarkable consistency, recording six touchbacks, contributing to five turnovers on special teams, converting 10 of his 11 field-goal attempts—with his lone miss coming on a blocked kick—and scoring 20 total points for the Gators.
Finding a player who excels in one phase of the game is difficult.
Finding one who excels in all three is exceptionally rare.
That versatility earned Fields the fitting nickname, "The Swiss Army Knife," and throughout the 2026 season, he lived up to it every Saturday. No matter what Tulsa needed, Fields found a way to deliver. His selfless attitude, willingness to play wherever his team needed him most, and game-changing ability helped fuel another outstanding season for the Gators while establishing himself as one of the brightest young stars in the CMFL.
For a rookie to make this kind of impact across offense, defense, and special teams is nothing short of extraordinary.
Congratulations once again to Cunu Fields of the Tulsa Gators on being named the 2026 Central Midwest Football League Co-Offensive Rookie of the Year.
The future is incredibly bright, and if this season is any indication, football fans have only seen the beginning of what "The Swiss Army Knife" is capable of accomplishing.
