A familiar face is coming back! One of Raise The Barre’s former competition dancers, Lauren, is coming back to teach a jazz/leaps and turns masterclass this summer! She has been teaching since she left for college and can answer any questions your child may have about continuing to dance after high school.
The class will be on Saturday, June 27th from 10:30am to 12:00pm and is $40 to sign up. See pinned comment for link to event page to RSVP. All are welcome, including those who are not in competition or not already attending the studio! Please feel free to share with anyone you think would be interested!

✨ Broadway Bound 2026 ✨
What a spectacular weekend!
Our dancers took the stage and brought the magic of Broadway to life in a show filled with talent, heart, hard work, and unforgettable moments. From our youngest performers to our graduating seniors, every dancer shined under the lights and reminded us why we love what we do.
A recital is so much more than a performance… it’s the culmination of months of growth, dedication, friendships, and memories. Watching our students step onto that stage with confidence and joy was the perfect way to celebrate another incredible season together.
Year 6 of recital is officially in the books! We couldn’t be more proud of everyone who helped make Broadway Bound such a success. 💙🤍✨
Enjoy a few snapshots from an unforgettable night!

Today our musical theatre comp class was given a choreography assignment… they choreographed a dance and were periodically asked to pull a slip that would tell them what they had to add in or do in the next two counts.
It was such a fun, creative assignment and they enjoyed it! ✨
Post some love for their choreo! 🎉🎉

Teaching Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, and even Beginner Ballet is not teaching watered-down ballet–at least, it never should be! Unfortunately, I often observe schools throwing their youngest, most recent hires into those classes regardless of what levels those teachers have been trained to teach. They may be trained in ballet technique and pedagogy, but they are sometimes expected to teach Creative Movement. Or, they may have little ballet technique training, yet, they are permitted to teach beginner ballet because a studio director is ignorant of the depth of knowledge required to teach beginner ballet well–as thought Pre-Ballet is nothing more than "easy" ballet. This is the 100% wrong approach. Teaching Creative Movement or Pre-Ballet requires training in the social and learning development of the pertinent ages.
And there is no such thing as spending a few years teaching 3-6-year-olds to prepare to teach technique to older dancers. These are all different areas of teaching and should be treated as such.
Respect the teachers of the "babies" as skilled, specialized teachers, not as lesser ballet teachers. Some people are trained in more than one specialty but not most.
