Get to Know Me: Coach Priscilla
How long have you been doing CrossFit?

3 years

What made you fall in love with CrossFit?

The feeling of accomplishment when finishing a hard workout, feeling myself becoming stronger and more capable, and most of all the support and encouragement from the community.

Whats your favorite thing about coaching?

Seeing other people enjoy CrossFit the way I do. How people light up when they learn something new or finally master something they’ve been working on or struggling with. Seeing their determination.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone thinking of starting CrossFit what would it be?

Just start. Even if you feel like you’re not ready, just show up, and keep showing up every week. Before long it will be routine and you won’t be able to imagine your life without it.

Favorite movement?

Anything gymnastics related. Handstands, wall walks, muscle ups, toes to bar.

Least favorite movement?

Double unders!

Fran or Murph?

Fran

What motivates you during a WOD?

The clock, haha. But really just knowing how good I will feel when I give it my all and get through it.

Beach or mountains?

Probably mountains but I do love swimming in the ocean.

Coffee or energy drinks?

Coffee 100%

Coach Priscilla: I started CrossFit in 2023 and quickly fell in love with it. I love the intensity, the variety, and that there’s always more to learn and improve. Growing up, gymnastics and dance were my outlets. CrossFit gives me the chance to do things I haven’t done since I was a kid, all while being part of the most fun and supportive community. It makes working out feel like play instead of just something you have to do to stay fit. Coaching has given me the opportunity to share my love for CrossFit while continuing to grow in this awesome sport.

Coach Jannette - at OPC since 2014 - coaching since 2024.
As a mother of seven children, I walked into the gym looking for time to focus on my personal fitness. What I found was a new passion! I loved helping friends during class—watching them progress and learn new movements was incredibly satisfying. To master the best teaching techniques, I earned my CrossFit Level 1 Certification in 2024 and transitioned into coaching regularly. When I’m not at the gym, I’m with my husband spending time with our children and grandchildren, traveling the world, attending concerts, hiking, gardening, and relaxing at home with good music.

Coach Julian:
I’ve always been into working out since high school when I ran track. I started CrossFit at OPC in 2017 because a regular gym wasn’t cutting it. CrossFit has allowed me to hit personal fitness goals, and become a coach where I can help people better themselves.

Coach Kellie
As a child and teen who didn’t participate in sports and would not have been described as ā€œathleticā€, CrossFit has transformed me into someone younger Kellie would be amazed by! I started CrossFit in 2014 after not enjoying going to LA Fitness by myself, not having someone to guide me through proper technique, and battling people for the squat rack. I’ve learned so much from CrossFit including learning that I’m capable of doing things I never thought I’d be able to do. I started coaching in 2023 and I love seeing people learn the same things about themselves!
