The goal isn't just to make athletes faster or stronger.

We want them to move better, understand what their bodies can do, and leave each session feeling a little more capable than when they arrived.

That's what athletic development is about.

Build the skills. Build the confidence. Keep progressing.

A little look at what an OSS Performance session looks like.

Speed. Power. Movement. Competition. And plenty of work in between.

Every session is designed to help young athletes become better movers and more confident athletes while having a good time doing it.

That's what we do. ๐Ÿ’ช

Speed gets attention, but the ability to control that speed is just as important.

Deceleration and change-of-direction training helps athletes learn to control their body, absorb force, and transition into their next movement with speed and explosiveness.

Whether it's cutting on the field, reacting to an opponent, or simply being able to stop under control, these are skills that show up across sports.

Training this control not only builds speed in the same movements, but it also helps condition the body to better handle these forces. This will help ward off injury to the same parts of the body over time.

That's why we don't just train athletes to go fasterโ€”we train them to move better.

Getting faster takes more than just running more sprints.

We use acceleration work, jumping and hopping variations, and sprinting to help athletes develop the coordination, force production, and movement skills that contribute to speed.

The goal isn't to throw random drills at an athlete. It's to build the pieces, put them together, and give them a chance to improve over time.

That's what intentional athletic development looks like.

Confidence in speed and movement doesn't come from hoping you're readyโ€”it comes from putting in the work.

Every sprint, jump, and drill is an opportunity to build skills, overcome challenges, and earn confidence through preparation.

That's one of the things I enjoy most about coaching: watching athletes realize they're capable of more than they thought.
