Just FYI.. 🚨🏞️

Great Smoky Mountains National Park will temporarily close Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail on Sept. 24 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to safely complete roadside mowing and other maintenance.

The park will temporarily close the road at the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail entrance. Visitors can still drive the Cherokee Orchard Road loop and access the trailheads for Old Sugarlands Trail, Rainbow Falls Trail, Trillium Gap Trail and Twin Creeks Trail.

Check the park website for up-to-date information on road closures and construction.

Just a few from today. It will forever be amazing meeting people from other countries that come all the way to the Great Smoky Mountains ⛰️ to ride bikes 🚲 with us. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is bear country 🐻

If you're visiting the Smokies, help us protect the animals who live here, in both the national park and the surrounding areas, by being BearWise.

• Have an open or soft-topped vehicle? Never leave food or scented items unattended inside of it (Rubber ducks are fine!)

• Planning to hike? Never leave your backpack or belongings unattended. Pack all trash out with you and dispose of it in a bear-proof dumpster.

• If you see a bear by the road, use pull-offs to view it, do not stop in the roadway. Never approach a bear within 50 yards or any distance that may disturb it.
