Kossover Tennis Center is hosting the Washburn Invitational this weekend, September 18th-19th.

Open court space will be varied throughout the weekend, opening up more throughout the evening. However, this will be heavily dependent on the weather and is subject to change.

We have been having the best fall with everyone so far! Our Session I classes will wrap up next week and Session II will begin 9/21!

Kossover Tennis Center is hosting the USTA Missouri Valley Mixed 18 & Over League Sectionals this weekend, September 11th-13th.

We had a great time hosting the very first L3 Missouri Valley Junior Cup Team Tournament this past weekend! With 8 teams in each age group (BG12-14 and BG16-18) and 24 players per division, we had a total of 192 players compete over the long weekend!

We had several Kossover players and coaches participate in this incredible event! The players include: Carsten Joost, Megan Sweeney, Emma Sweeney, Keelee Nelson, Jacob Clutter, and Madilyn Poole.

Our very own Kossover coaches led their teams to victory in the BG12-14 division. Coach Alexis’s team took 1st, Coach Branden’s team took 2nd, and Coach Logan’s team took 3rd!

Thank you to everyone who made this such a fun event and congratulations to all the players!

KOSSOVER RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD!!!

Kossover Tennis Center was one of SEVEN Large Public Facilities nationwide to receive the 2026 USTA Outstanding Facility Award.

Coach Alexis and Logan travelled to New York earlier this week to accept this prestigious award at the US Open. We are beyond thrilled that Kossover was recognized!

We want to extend a huge thank you to Shawnee County Parks + Rec, the Topeka Tennis Association, the USTA, and our team at Racquet & Paddle. Their hard work and continued support made this recognition possible.

Kossover Tennis Center is hosting the USTA L3 Junior Cup Team Tournament this weekend, September 4th-7th.

This tournament will be utilizing Kossover, Washburn University, Hayden High School, and Lake Shawnee courts. All courts will be used, courts will potentially open up in the evening, weather permitting.

August was another busy month for several Kossover players competing in USTA tournaments! The players include: Tate Gilbert, Carsten Joost, Daxsten Joost, Jacob Clutter, Kenton Myrick, Juliet Oldberg, Keelee Nelson, Sam Grindal, and Cole Fay. Here is how the month played out:

At the L6 in Kansas City, we had several Kossover players compete. Tate Gilbert took 3rd place in B12’s singles! Sam Grindal had a great comeback win in B16’s singles. Cole Fay also played and won a great B18’s singles match.

At the L5 in Tulsa, OK, Carsten Joost took 5th place in B12’s singles. Jacob Clutter also competed and got a great come back singles win in B12’s. Carsten and Jacob teamed up for B12’s doubles and had two great wins! Keelee Nelson also competed and won a hard fought singles match and doubles match in G14’s!

Kenton Myrick had a busy month! He competed in the L7 at Woodside where he took second in his flight in B16’s. Also played another L7 in Wichita where he again took second in his group in B16’s. He finished out the month playing the L7 in Kansas City and took 1st place in B16’s!

Daxsten Joost competed in the Junior Circuit tournament in Kansas City where he took 2nd place in his Orange Ball flight!

Juliet Oldberg competed in the L7 at Woodside where she won a great G14’s singles match. She also played in the Junior Circuit in Kansas City and had another singles win in G14’s!

We are so proud of all our players who competed this month, they all finished the summer strong! Stay tuned to see what next month has in store!
