Kansas State High School Activities Association The Association is comprised of more than 355 senior high and 410 middle/junior high member schools.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) serves students by providing leadership for the administration of education based interscholastic activities. Member schools must be accredited and are both public and private schools.

Three-time Class 2A state champion Madison Howland of Smith Center won the girls race in 19:37.20. Ellsworth claimed the team title, led by Molly Ehrlich in fourth, Lakyn Beckman in seventh and Sage Gray in ninth.

Quinter swept the top three spots in the boys race and captured the team title. Carter Pennington won in 17:30.41, followed by Reid Bowman (17:48.70) and John Boone (18:04.41).

Eudora earned its first ever victory over Hayden as the Cardinals rallied from two scores down in the second half to pull away for their season opening win over the No. 2 ranked Wildcats.

Several Ringnecks shined in new roles at the skill positions. Slade Rohr rushed for 182 yards and three touchdowns, Jaxson Smith caught two touchdown passes and Chase Bell threw for three scores in his first start at quarterback. Briggs Born sealed the win with a fumble recovery on Trego’s final drive.

Trego sophomore quarterback Vladon Crawford ran for four touchdowns and threw for another, while Westyn Windholz caught four passes for 101 yards.

The 2026 KSHSAA Student Council Regional Conferences are headed across Kansas this fall!

Student leaders and advisors will have the opportunity to grow their leadership skills, connect with students across the state and bring new ideas back to their schools. Keynote speaker Dustin Galyon will also bring his high-energy message to each stop along the way!

Sept. 22: Blue Valley School District- Hilltop Campus
Sept. 23: Clearwater HS
Sept. 24: Minneapolis HS
Sept. 28: Free State HS
Sept. 29: Hays HS
Sept. 30: Dodge City Civic Center
Oct. 1: Valley Center HS

Please register at least two weeks before the conference you plan to attend. The registration fee is $10 per attendee.

Topeka's Courtney Sanders had a 17-yard TD reception, 40-yard TD run and 94-yard punt return TD in the final 3:42 of the first half to turn a narrow 6-0 Trojan lead into a 26-0 halftime margin.
