John Canale ’25 continues his academic and athletic career at UConn as a member of the Track & Field program.

For John, the preparation for the next level went far beyond competition. The combination of Fordham Prep’s academic rigor and the guidance of his coaches helped build the discipline, work ethic, accountability, and resilience he carries with him today.

“Fordham Prep’s rigorous academic environment challenged me to think critically, manage my time, and develop the discipline I needed to succeed in college.”

John also credits the Track & Field coaching staff and his teammates with helping prepare him for the jump to collegiate competition.

For Will Wood ’24, that journey has continued at Georgetown University, where he competes as a collegiate student-athlete with Georgetown Football.

From Fordham Prep to the international stage.

The European Aquatics Championships are underway in Paris with competition continuing throughout the week, and we’re proud to celebrate Jack Kelly ’21 as he represents Ireland on the international stage.

Jack’s journey was recently featured in the Irish Independent newspaper and the quotes in the article make this an especially meaningful moment for Fordham Prep Swimming.

“It was his high school coach Dom Galimi, who first suggested he could swim for Ireland.”

The article also highlights Fordham Prep’s longstanding relationship with Blackrock College and credits Coach Cindy Hurley with providing the introductions that connected Jack with Swim Ireland.
