Jamal Kendrick will be the new Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach! Coach Kendrick brings to Linfield a wealth of basketball knowledge and leadership experience, and he is passionate about helping our athletes develop on and off the court. He played basketball in Switzerland, the Philippines, Turkey, China, Saudi Arabia, and New Zealand, and he recently spent time coaching women’s basketball at Cal State San Marcos.
Coach Kendrick has a son who is a sophomore at Cal State San Marcos; his favorite verse is Proverbs 16:9, and in his free time, he enjoys working out, eating, watching basketball, and bowling. He says,
“What I’m most excited about is the opportunity to build something special at Linfield. I want to create a culture where players are excited to walk into the gym, compete for each other, and take pride in being a Linfield Lion. For me, it’s bigger than just wins and losses. I’m excited about developing confident players, building real relationships, and creating a program with an identity people recognize. I want our players to enjoy the journey, work hard, and eventually look back and be proud of themselves, knowing they gave it their all.”
